Our shelves could use a little help! 🥫💚

Canned meats and vegetables are some of the items we need most to help keep our shelves stocked for neighbors across Coastal Georgia. When you’re shopping, consider picking up a few extra cans to donate, or gather your workplace, school, church or community group and host a canned food drive for Second Harvest.

Every can adds up and helps us provide more variety for the families we serve.

🚨 TIME CHANGE for Camden County!

Our Mobile Food Pantry at the PSA Rec Center on Monday, August 17 will now take place from 9:30–11:30 AM.

📍 PSA Rec Center
1050 Wildcat Drive, Kingsland, GA 31548

Food will be available first come, first served while supplies last. Neighbors will remain in their vehicles, and food will be loaded directly into clean, empty trunks.

Our team was honored to join Dollar Tree in celebrating 25 years of operations at their Savannah Distribution Center! 🎉💚

During our visit, we had the opportunity to tour the facility, hear from Dollar Tree leadership and learn more about the role their Savannah Distribution Center plays in supporting associates, customers and communities across the Southeast.

We’re especially grateful for the continued partnership Dollar Tree has built with Second Harvest over the years. Through generous product donations from the Savannah Distribution Center, they have helped us keep food moving into the hands of our neighbors across Coastal Georgia. This fiscal year alone, Dollar Tree has donated more than 165,000 pounds of product to Second Harvest.

Those donations are another example of how the work happening at the Savannah Distribution Center extends beyond its walls and into the communities it serves. For Second Harvest, that support helps us provide food to families, children, seniors and individuals facing hunger throughout our 21-county service area.

Congratulations to the entire Dollar Tree team on 25 years in Savannah! Thank you for welcoming us to celebrate this important milestone and for your continued generosity, partnership and commitment to our community. 💚

Last week, we had a pretty sweet group join us in the Kids Cafe Kitchen! ❤️🍭

The River Street Sweets® leadership team spent the morning volunteering with Second Harvest, helping prepare 2,300 meals for children headed back to school in Coastal Georiga.

We’re incredibly grateful for longtime partners like River Street Sweets who continue to show up for our mission and our community. Their support of Kids Cafe helps us make sure children have access to the nutritious meals they need throughout the school year. 💚

Hunger Action Month is a chance for all of us to show up for neighbors facing hunger across Coastal Georgia. Whether you give your time, make a donation, start a food drive or simply help spread the word, every action can make a difference.

Throughout September, we’ll be sharing ways to get involved, helpful resources, hunger facts and opportunities to support our community. There’s something everyone can do to help put food on the table for our neighbors.

🎒✏️ Kids Cafe is BACK! 🍎💚

Today marks the start of another year of Kids Cafe, providing free after-school meals for children and teens 18 and under at participating programs across Coastal Georgia!

But Kids Cafe is about more than what’s on the plate. Our sites give kids a safe place to learn, play, spend time with friends and caring adults, and enjoy a nutritious meal after a long day at school. 💚

🥪 Every meal starts with care. 🧡

Behind every Kids Cafe meal is a dedicated team of kitchen staff and volunteers working hard to make sure children across Coastal Georgia have access to nutritious, ready-to-eat meals they can count on.

Each day, our kitchen prepares around 4,000 meals that are distributed to schools, after-school programs, community centers, and other partner sites. Last year alone, we served 787,609 meals, helping ensure children have the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Since 1989, the Kids Cafe program has been making a difference—one meal at a time.

It takes a lot of planning, preparation, and teamwork to make it happen, and we're proud to serve our young community every single day. 🧡
