The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Unit has been busy serving our community!

Yesterday, our team, alongside dedicated Street Operations, Jail Operations and Patrol deputies and students from Savannah State University, joined Friends of Urban Nature, Harambee House, the NAACP, local elected officials, and other community organizations for the Frazier Homes Community Cleanup.

This morning, the team continued its outreach by supporting the GALS Foundation as a community resource vendor for its sickle cell awareness initiative.

Today, Sheriff Richard S. Coleman and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office pause to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken, the courageous first responders who answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

May we never forget the extraordinary bravery, sacrifice, and unity demonstrated during one of our nation’s darkest moments.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
