A message from SRTC member, Dennis Salzer, a U.S. Navy veteran who served during 1968-1997 in Northern Ireland, Annapolis, New London, on the USS Sampson, as a Naval Reserve Recruiter and who retired as Senior Chief, Submarine Support, Facility Detachment, New London:

"On this Memorial Day, we pause to pay tribute to those who gave up all of these tomorrows for our today's. White crosses and stars of David at cemeteries around the world are silent reminders of the price of freedom. These dedicated men and woman stepped forward giving their last full measure of devotion ensuring that each generation of Americans enjoyed all of the freedoms that the United States of America stands for. If it were not for selfless heroes we honor on this day, the Fourth of July would just be another date on the calendar. Let us keep them in our hearts, minds and prayers every day."
