We’re taking advantage of the downtime to give our floors a fresh wax and shine as we get the Community Center ready for fall programming! 🍂

While setting up the umbrella for a meeting at the park today, we found this little guy already hanging out underneath. 😂
Apparently, he had the meeting space reserved first!
You never know who you’ll run into in our parks. 💚🌿

A little TLC happening at Moulton Park today! 🌳🔨
The pavilion is getting a good power washing before a fresh coat of stain, and work is continuing on the house as well.
Even more exciting — the pavilion will be available to rent beginning in 2027! 🎉
We’re excited to keep making improvements and taking care of this beautiful park for everyone to enjoy. 💚

📢 Community Center Update

As a reminder, there will be no drop-in programs this week (August 24-28, 2026), including Morning Pickleball and Evening Volleyball, due to ongoing maintenance, facility improvements, and deep cleaning at the Community Center.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work to reopen a clean, refreshed, and welcoming facility for programs next week.

In the meantime, take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoy one of our local parks, playgrounds, walking trails, or outdoor pickleball courts. It looks like a wonderful week to get outside and stay active!

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you back at the Community Center soon.

Foam Party After Hours- A UV Glowing Foam Event! Saturday, August 29 - 8pm-10pm.
The AMP at Sam Michaels Park

Join us for a night of music, glowing foam, and music as we close out summer! Dance with our DJ, cool off in UV glowing foam and enjoy an unforgettable night under the UV Lights and Stars!

Beer and wine will be available for purchase (valid ID required), along with snacks from our concession stand. All ages welcome.

Cost is $5/person
Pre-register at jeffersoncountywv.MyRec.com or pay at the gate.

The AMP is an all lawn seat venue. Bring your dancing shoes! Chairs are not provided. You may bring chairs if you want to sit. You may get wet in the foam at this event.

🌳 Exciting Improvements Coming to Mount Mission Park!

We’re excited to share that improvements are coming to Mount Mission Park, including a larger playground with a poured-in-place surface, a new multipurpose field with soccer goals, a grass volleyball area, additional parking, new perimeter fencing, and more!

⚾ And for those wondering — the existing backstop is staying! There will still be a place to toss a ball around and enjoy a game of catch.

🚧 We hope to begin construction later this month, with work anticipated to be completed by the end of October. During construction, portions of the park may be temporarily closed or have limited access, so please use caution and follow all posted signs.

As we make these improvements, we also ask everyone to review and follow the park rules posted on-site to help protect the park and keep it a great place for everyone to enjoy.

We appreciate your patience and can’t wait to see these improvements take shape!

Please bear with us over the next week and a half as we complete several facility improvement projects, including maintenance, deep cleaning, floor refinishing, and the installation of a new vestibule window designed to create a more seamless and welcoming entry into the Community Center.
