Socorro Fire Department recently hosted a vehicle extrication training with guests from San Elizario FD, Fabens FD, Ysleta Del sur Pueblo FD and El Paso County Emergency Services District #2.
Special thanks to El Paso Crushers for providing a training location. This training will greatly assist our members as well as other local departments to be better prepared when responding to these type of incidents.

Yesterday at approximately 2pm Socorro FD was dispatched to provide mutual aid to Montana Vista FD and Horizon FD with a House fire at the 14000 block of Tangerine ave in montana vista
Once again strong work shown from our members helping other communities in times of need.

Early this morning, Socorro Fire department was dispatched to a possible structure fire. Fire crews found a garage and vehicle engulfed in flames, but with the help from San Elizario FD, YDSP FD, and Clint FD, the situation was quickly contained to the point of origin and no Residences were affected by the fire.

Socorro Search and Rescue personnel assisted Montana Vista FD with a mutual aid request for a hiker who got hurt over the weekend. The team, headed by Horizon FD, included EPSO, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Montana Vista FD, Socorro FD, and West Valley FD. The patient was brought down from the mountains and taken to a local area hospital.

Yesterday around 4:30 pm, Socorro Fire Department responded to a possible junkyard fire
12 units and 53 firefighters from multiple departments, including Ysleta del sur pueblo FD, San Elizario FD, and Horizon FD, worked together to bring the fire under control in approximately 6 hours.
Also Thank you to Socorro Police department for assisiting with traffic control during this operation.
