STUDENT SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY!!!

Raycelyn is a sweet, kind, smart, bubbly, and energetic kiddo who lights up the room! She’s been with us since March! 🥰She arrives each week with a big smile, excited and ready to learn—and, of course, ready to squish a few sensory toys along the way!

We’ve worked so hard on reading and math skills, and we are incredibly proud of you, Raycelyn, for always working hard and doing your best. Keep up the amazing work! We are so thankful to have you at Scenic Land Learning. Thank you for brightening our week! 💕

What We Did Wednesday…
This friend comes to Scenic Land Learning to practice his reading. He’s got the phonics down, but it is something that doesn’t come easy for him. Reading time for homework had become a challenge. We just give him a quiet space to practice his reading with no judgement and use tools and strategies that decrease anxiety. Finishing this book today made him so proud. We can’t wait to read with you again next week!

Our family was part of this statistic. My kids’ libraries started with Imagination Library books. Some of our favorite books came straight from this wonderful lady. The world lost a good one yesterday, but what a beautiful legacy she left. She instilled the importance of literacy and impactful stories that will truly outlive her!

Thank you, Dolly Parton! Her passion and commitment to early literacy has provided 16,814 books to children in our district in partnership with the Greencastle-Antrim Education Foundation (GAEF)! The foundation works with business partners to cover costs of postage. The Imagination Library provides the books every month from birth to age 5! Her legacy lives on!

🔦Student Spotlights Sunday🔦
This sweet kiddo has to work harder than others to accomplish a task. Communication challenges make expressing what she is thinking extra hard. Her body always wants to move when it is time to sit still. She sometimes takes a little encouraging to push through frustration. But she does. With a little wiggle room, some pep talks, creative teaching, and flexibility to do things her own way, she thrives. We are so happy she brings her light to Scenic Land Learning. We regularly remind her brain is unique. And having a unique brain is such a cool thing. It’s something to be proud of. Sometimes students don’t necessarily need more instruction or support. Sometimes they just need space to move and friendly reminders that they aren’t broken. Differences are celebrated here! I’m so glad this unique kiddo found her way into our classrooms! Danielle Hudson…you should be so so proud!!!

This is an after-school program for middle school students to get homework help, tutoring, and socialization. It will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30-4:30.
$35 an hour or $400 a month for unlimited drop-ins
