Crews from all over Northern Utah have been asked to help support suppression efforts in the fire.

South Weber City Fire Department is no exception.
We sent a 3 person crew up yesterday to lend a hand.

🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING EVACUATION ALERT — SOUTH WEBER CITY 🚨

🟩🟩 SOUTH WEBER CITY IS NOT UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER.🟩🟩

To be absolutely clear:

❌ South Weber City is NOT currently under an evacuation order.
❌ South Weber City is NOT currently at risk of evacuation due to the East Canyon fire.
❌ There are NO evacuation orders currently affecting South Weber City.

We are aware that some residents have received an automated emergency alert stating:

“EMERGENCY
Emergency Alert
Your residence has been placed in a ‘GO’ Status.
EVACUATE NOW”

THIS ALERT WAS NOT ISSUED FOR SOUTH WEBER CITY.

The alert was issued in connection with the fire near East Canyon State Park and may have been received by individuals whose emergency-alert location information placed them within the affected notification area.

📍 If you are currently in South Weber City, you do NOT need to evacuate based on this alert.

Please remain calm, do not spread unverified information, and rely on official emergency notifications and information from local authorities for any changes.

To our residents, followers, and neighboring communities.
Wanted to share a couple important messages.

First and foremost.
- There are two fire's near South Weber.

-- One is located in Washington Terrace.
Grass Fire
(That fire is under control, crew's will be on scene for sometime monitoring and putting out hot spots)

- There is also a fire in Layton City
Structure Fire
(Crews are still actively working on getting it under control)

There is NO CURRENT threat to the community of South Weber.
Our crews are monitoring closely

We also want to share a very heartfelt thank you to our residents.
As we end the Fourth of July and Pioneer Days celebrations.. We are pleased to report we had no fireworks related incidents as a result of fireworks.

Thank you for celebrating responsibility and helping to keep our community safe.

Regarding firework guidelines & restrictions as we enter into the Pioneer Day weekend.
Pioneer Day is Friday July 24th this year.

Sharing the joint statement from Mayor Rod Westbroek and Fire Chief Derek Tolman regarding the discharging of fireworks, safety guidelines and other important details for a safe and enjoyable Pioneer Day holiday.
