With mental health being an important topic in today’s society, the Springdale Borough Police Department is proud to announce that two of our veteran officers are now certified members of the Veteran Response Team (VRT).

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and VA Police, the Veteran Response Team helps connect veterans with the resources, services, and support they need. This collaborative effort ensures that those who have served our country receive comprehensive care and assistance from both local and federal partners.

If you or a loved one are a veteran in need of assistance or would like a referral to available services, please reach out to:

Spring weather = more bikes and e-bikes on our roads. 🚲

Before you head out, take a minute to make sure you’re riding within Pennsylvania law. Different types of bikes come with different rules.

And don’t forget… a helmet isn’t optional when it comes to safety.

The Springdale Borough Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation for their generous donation of Individual Officer First Aid Kits and mass casualty response bags.

This critical, life-saving equipment greatly enhances our ability to respond to medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and large-scale incidents within our community. Having properly equipped officers during those first crucial moments before EMS arrival can make a profound difference in outcomes.

We are truly thankful for this investment in the safety of our officers and the residents we proudly serve. Partnerships like this strengthen our mission and our community. 🚔💙

STATEMENT: Attributable to an ICE spokesperson

ICE ERO Philadelphia and the Springdale Police Department arrested Randy Ralphy Cordova Flores, an illegal alien from Peru, during a joint operation in Springdale, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 10. A Springdale Police Officer observed a white Jeep commit a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. ERO and Springdale officers arrested the driver, Cordova Flores, who failed to report to his immigration proceedings as ordered by a judge. He will now face consequences for violating our nation’s laws.

In 2023, Border Patrol Agents encountered Cordova Florez near Yuma, Arizona after he unlawfully entered the United States during the Biden Administration’s catch and release program.

Since Springdale Police Department entered into a 287(g) agreement with ICE in November, trained officers have worked alongside ICE ERO personnel to identify and process illegal aliens encountered during local law enforcement activities, consistent with the terms of the agreement and federal law. ICE ERO routinely conducts enforcement actions in Springdale and other communities within the Philadelphia area of responsibility.
