Yesterday, members took the time relax and spend the day together having a small picnic. Kids got to play and fish. Everyone got to enjoy the beautiful day we had. Special thanks to Greenly's BBQ and Scarfalloto's for the food and to Dave and Kathy Thorne for the use of the property!

Last night members traveled to Tunkhannock to meet with Tunkhannock Dive team members to go over the capabilities and equipment they carry. While we have been very fortunate that we do not see alot of water related emergencies, it is still important to understand how water rescue teams respond to floods, ice rescues and other water incidents.

*Two crashes within 24h*

Last night just before midnight, SVFC, United Fire Company, Elk Lake Volunteer Fire Company, and Montrose Minute Men handled a reported iPhone crash notification at the intersection of Strickland Hill and SR2003 In Springville Twp. Units arrived to find a two vehicle crash, head on. Luckily there were no injuries. Units cleared just before 3am.

This afternoon, the same units handled a one vehicle rollover on SR29 in Springville Twp. There was no entrapment and the driver was helped out of the vehicle by responders and transported to an area hospital for further treatment. The scene was turned over to PSP and units returned to service.

This afternoon, SVFC, United Fire Company, Elk Lake Volunteer Fire Company, and Montrose Minute Men were dispatched for a reported crash notification, on SR29 in Dimock Twp. 1st arriving units found one vehicle, off the roadway with the driver out. Units controlled traffic and hazards while the driver was evaluated and released onscene. Crews cleared the scene after the vehicle was removed by tow services.
