Congratulations to our new Student Council officers!

Any 7th or 8th grader interested in joining the Jr. Fishing Team, there will be an informational parent meeting held on Monday, August 31st, at 6:00pm in the SMS auditorium.

We have three volleyball games this week. We play at Alexandria on Monday, August 31st. Tuesday, September 1st, we'll travel to Odenville. Lastly, we'll travel to Gadsden City on Thursday, September 3rd. The games will begin at 4:00pm each day!

Our football team will play on Tuesday, September 1st, at Southside. The game will start at 5:30pm.

Our cross country team will be competing in the Tomahawk Trail Invitational on Saturday, September 5th. The meet will be in Oneonta.

We will have Kona Ice on campus this Thursday, September 3rd, for students to purchase during their PE class. Items start at $4.

We sent home flu shot forms last week. If you are interested in your child receiving the flu shot, please return the form by September 4th.

Looking ahead to next week, the school will be closed on Monday, September 7th, for Labor Day.

In Mrs. Higdon’s science classes this week students created all about me hexagons! Students filled them out using prompts, and then they put theirs next to someone who had something in common with them!

This week in academics:

Students created Roman Frescos in Coach Wilkerson’s class. These are drawings about things that are important in their daily life. So in the event of a volcanic eruption, archeologists would know about them thousands of years in the future.
