The City of Clayton Fire Department would like to thank everyone who played a part in our annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. The day could not have been accomplished without you. Together we were able to raise $31,341 for the National Fallen Fire Fighters Foundation and Supporting Heroes charities.

We were especially honored to have an opening address by Sgt. Mike Kenny NYPD (ret), a 41 year veteran of the NYPD. Sgt. Kenny responded to ground zero on 9/11/2001 and continued to work in rescue and recovery efforts at the site for the following 132 days. The story of the day from his perspective helped everyone remember the true reason that we climb. He also gave those who may have been too young to remember a chance to hear first hand of the sacrifices made by responders on that day.

A special thanks to Woodard Cleaning and Restoration, Pipeline Association of Missouri, Certasite, Sentinel, and QXO for their generous sponsorship and continued support.

Today the Clayton Fire Department was honored to receive a visit from Mr Solerno. Mr. Solerno was at our community center on July 4th when he became short of breath. His condition quickly evolved into a full cardiac arrest. We are proud to have played a role in his recovery and happy to see him under much better circumstances.
