Trees Cause Significant Damage to Two Apartment Buildings

At approximately 5:33 p.m. this evening, the Lemay Fire Protection District, along with several mutual-aid fire departments, responded to the 300 block of Kingston for reports of large trees that had fallen onto two apartment buildings.

Upon arrival, firefighters found significant damage to both buildings. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

As a result of the damage, four residents were displaced from their homes. The apartment manager worked with the affected residents to arrange temporary housing.

Due to the hazards created by the damage, utility companies were notified and requested to shut off electrical and natural gas service to the affected buildings as a precaution.

Firefighters conducted a thorough assessment of the affected structures and worked to ensure the area was safe.

No injuries were reported.
