Pollinator Paradise at Givens Elementary

09/25/2026

Hi all! We are having a working day in the garden tomorrow - this Saturday, Sep 26, from 9-11am. Please join if you are able!!

10/04/2025

A week from today is our last regular workday of the year. Hope you can make it and bring family and friends!

We will be hacking back the goldenrod before it goes to seed, so bring your tree trimmers (battery operated is even better, because there’s a lot)! All hands are welcome and appreciated!!

PS: It might seem like a silly idea (goldenrod is great for the pollinators!), but to keep the prairie healthy, we need some balance. Don’t worry; there will still be plenty next year.

Let there be dark!
They’re on the move! Help them out by turning off your outside lights.

Bird migration forecast maps show predicted nocturnal migration 3 hours after local sunset and are updated every 6 hours. Colorado State University and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology currently produce these forecasts.

PSA: DUMP ALL STANDING WATER! We won’t have to spray poisons if we don’t grow mosquitoes! Check flower pot trays, fire pits, any and all standing water- mosquitoes can lay eggs in a teaspoon of water!

Save the night time pollinators by turning off lights you don’t need!

ALAN - Artificial Light At Night - is surging. Light pollution disrupts health for humans and wildlife, wastes energy and money, and blocks out awe-some Universe views. How to flip the switch on this issue? Dark knights arose in 1988 to challenge and turn this offense to Quality of Earth Life.....
