First responders on Sullivan’s Island advise beach goers to exercise caution in the water today following multiple reports of jellyfish stings along the shore.

It is recommended to stay alert when entering the water. Clear jellyfish can be difficult to see.

If stung, calmly exit the water. The stings can cause pain, redness, and itching. Our dispatch center can be reached at 843-743-7200 or 911 if emergency assistance is needed.

Carolina Day is almost here! What will you do first?

Watch a cannon fire? Learn colonial dancing? Try your hand at cricket? Watch an indigo dyeing demonstration?

With so much happening during the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Sullivan's Island, you'll want an event map to help plan your day.

Here's a sneak peek at what you can experience during the celebration:
🟨 History Row (yellow on the map):
Step back into 1776 and discover how the palmetto fort was built, what soldiers wore during the battle, and how colonists lived. Try your hand at games like Graces and cricket, watch blacksmithing demonstrations, learn colonial dances, make a sachet, or create your own regimental flag.

🟪Artillery range (purple on the map)
Experience the sights and sounds of the battle with scheduled musket and cannon firing demonstrations throughout the day.

🟧Living History Area (orange on the map)
See history come to life with demonstrations of indigo dyeing, brick making, knot tying, colonial cooking, and more.

🍴Hungry? Several food trucks will be on-site, or feel free to bring your own snacks.

🏫Don't miss the Visitor Center! Explore the museum exhibits and watch the park film to learn more about the Battle of Sullivan's Island.

Don’t forget, the event runs all weekend with an official commemoration ceremony on Sunday, June 28, so make sure you return for a second fun-filled day!
