Florida State University Army ROTC cadets exercised their courage and confidence on the rappel tower. Before making their descent, three cadets swore in at the top, taking another step towards their futures as Army leaders.

From taking the oath to taking the leap, each cadet faced the challenges with determination, teamwork and confidence.

Florida State University Cadets had the opportunity to connect with their future when Program Executive Office Soldier visited the Seminole Battalion. Cadets got hands-on experience with Nett Warrior and explored some of the Army’s newest night-vision capabilities.

Experiences like this give our future officers a firsthand look at the technology and capabilities they will one day employ in the field.

Florida State University Army ROTC was excited to host cadets from Jefferson County JROTC for a day of rappel training. Opportunities like this allow our cadets to share their experiences, build relationships, and give the next generation of Army leaders a firsthand look at what lies ahead.

From JROTC to ROTC, we are building a connected pipeline of leaders committed to serving something greater than themselves.

One ROTC. One Team. One Future.

This morning, cadets and midshipmen from Florida State University Army ROTC and Florida A&M University NROTC Unit, The Rattler Battalion ran to remember and honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Most of these young men and women were not yet born when the attacks occurred. Yet, Sept. 11 is part of our nation’s history — and its lessons, sacrifices, and impact continue to shape the world they will soon serve.

We remember the victims, the first responders, and the families who have carried that loss for the past 25 years.

We must NEVER FORGET.

Yesterday, the Seminole Battalion learned and improved their individual movement techniques (IMT). Cadets practiced low crawls, high crawls, and bounding before finishing lab by learning how to establish a patrol base. We also had the honor of swearing in three future Army officers.
