As we prepare to make our endorsements, we’re locking arms with each other and with the progressive values that will shape our future.

We want to be clear about what we’re looking for: candidates who are ready to challenge the status quo, fight for bold change, and inspire a new generation of leaders and voters.

It would take another 2 and a half years after emancipation for the slaves of Galveston, Texas to know they were freed. On Juneteenth we honor the lives of those slaves and free abolitionists who organized and fought for basic human dignity. Today we must never forget that history and let it guide us in our modern day fight for justice.

Today is also about showing love to ourselves and our community. So we encourage you to get outside and support the Black led events happening this weekend. Happy Juneteenth ya’ll!

60 years ago Black Americans marched, boycotted, and bled for the right to vote.

Now those very rights are being stripped from us one by one in this week alone! In Florida, with our super majority Republican legislature, passed rigged maps that strips communities of color from their representation.

We cannot take this lying down. We must be like Rep. and fight back. This could very well be our last election to vote in elections as we know it. We must register and organize our communities to protect each other and vote to reverse these horrible actions.
