Big News:

We are officially on our way to a permanent home for the Big Bend Public Library!

The Brewster County Commissioners Court has awarded us a $100,000 matching grant to kickstart our building fund.

Stay tuned for details on how you can help us double this investment and bring our new library to life.

Our mascot is already testing out the new Kids’ Area, and the verdict is in: the floor cushions are officially the best seats in the house. With our bright new carpet and shelves stocked full of picture books, we’ve created the perfect nook for little imaginations to grow.

Come experience the new space for yourself today from 3pm-6pm at Canyon View Community Park.

Also bring the little ones and join us for Children's Story time at 4pm with free milk and cookies , and stories read aloud in both Spanish and English!

Join us for a busy few days of library activities this week, beginning Thursday at Canyon View Community Park next to the school. We are hosting a Volunteer Day from 10am to 2pm for anyone who wants to help us grow, with the trailer staying open for checkouts from 3pm to 6pm and then our monthly library meeting taking place at 4pm, all are welcome to attend!

On Saturday, we’ll be set up in the Ghost town at the Community Market from 10am to 3pm along with two special events you won't want to miss! Come by at 11am for our community Plant Swap to trade and talk about plants, and then join us at 2pm for our LAST Spanish class of the season. Don't forget your own chair and paper/pen for notes so you can get the most out of our final session together!

Also a reminder, there is one week left in the March All-Star Readers Draw! Grab a punch card at the checkout desk and earn entries into the draw for a $20 gift certificate to Milky Way treats! Every six books borrowed is another entry!

​Gather 'round today at 4:00 PM for treats and tales! We’ll have milk and cookies ready for the kids while the amazing Allison Weiss leads our read-aloud session. Don't forget to check out a few books to keep the magic going at home!

It is a wonderful week to visit the Big Bend Public Library trailer!

We are kicking things off this Thursday at our Canyon View home base from 3pm to 6pm. If you have school age kids, make sure to be there at 4pm for our monthly bilingual read-aloud story time featuring stories in both Spanish and English. Younger kids are invited to come at 3pm for “Toddler Time”.

We will be spending our Saturday at the Community Market in the Ghost town from 10pm to 3pm. While you are there, don't miss our free Spanish classes happening from 2pm to 3pm. There are only a couple Spanish lessons left this season, so don’t miss out!

We can't wait to see you this week!
