The 552d Air Control Wing hosted its Honorary Commanders for an immersion and luncheon at Tinker Air Force Base, Aug. 24.

The visit began with an immersion briefing that gave honorary commanders an overview of the wing's mission and capabilities. The group then took a static tour in Dock 2, where they could see the mission up close and engage with 552 ACW Airmen.

The immersion concluded with lunch in the Continuous Process Improvement room inside historic Building 230, giving wing leaders and community partners another opportunity to connect and strengthen relationships.

The Honorary Commander Program helps foster greater understanding of the Air Force mission while building lasting ties between the 552 ACW and the local community.

Airman of the Week: SrA Jalen Hall

SrA Jalen Hall is this week's Airman of the Week for his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and unwavering commitment to the 552nd Logistics Support Squadron mission. He played a key role in the IPE section's 100 percent inventory, helping account for 112,000 assets and complete the requirement two months ahead of the ACC deadline despite significant manning constraints. Hall also spearheaded the implementation of the RFID key role, improving inventory and issue processes while tagging 512 M4s and modernizing weapons accountability for years to come.

Hall joined the Air Force to pursue his education, build a better future for himself and his family, and become part of something bigger than himself. His most memorable Air Force experience was deploying to PSAB, where the people, mission, and lessons gained left a lasting impact. Motivated by his faith and family, Hall hopes to continue growing personally and professionally, with a dream assignment to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, supporting the PACAF mission through supply and logistics.

Airman of the Week: A1C William Smith

A1C William Smith is this week's Airman of the Week for his technical expertise and initiative in support of the 71st Air Control Squadron. Smith delivered a Tactical Operations Center-Light immersion brief to senior leaders, highlighting equipment capabilities and how communications Airmen support ACG and ACW missions. He also led a TOC-L kit operational check, identified and repaired a critical shortfall, and restored a $3.1 million system to full mission-ready status. Additionally, Smith led TOC-L spin-up training for the unit's newest NCO, instructing on eight setup and tear-down procedures.

Smith joined the Air Force to pursue his education and follow in his father's footsteps after growing up with his father serving in the military. His most memorable military experience was a TDY to the 726th Air Control Squadron, where he helped facilitate TOC-L training. Looking ahead, Smith hopes to continue building his technical expertise and pursue a career in network engineering.

TALONS OUT!!

Airman of the Week: A1C Nicole Sprulock

A1C Nicole Sprulock is this week's Airman of the Week for her initiative, adaptability, and outstanding support to the 965th Airborne Air Control Squadron. Stepping into the advanced role of DOI lead for two weeks, she overcame squadron manning shortfalls while building the road to war brief for Exercise Agile Thunder and briefing 100 squadron members. She also supported 24-hour operations and prepared crews for POTUS support. She built dual AOR threat assessments and analysis presentations for aircrew, earning both Falcon of the Week and Intel Troop of the Second Quarter recognition.

Sprulock joined the Air Force to gain valuable experience and educational opportunities before pursuing her next chapter. She credits Basic Military Training and her work in intelligence as her most memorable experiences, saying they taught her how to anticipate outcomes and prepare her unit for future operations. Looking ahead, she hopes to become an author or journalist and would welcome an overseas assignment to continue exploring the world.

Deployed families gathered at the Tinker Event Center for the Deployed Families Support Night Dinner on July 24, 2026.

Tinker Leadership connected with families, answered questions, and shared information about available programs and resources. Wing leaders also helped serve dinner, while representatives from installation helping agencies and the Tinker Spouses Group were available to provide support and build connections across the community.

Events like this reinforce an important message to our deployed Airmen and their loved ones: You are not alone. Our people, our families, our strength.

TSgt Geron Horne is this week's Airman of the Week for his exceptional leadership and expertise as the NCOIC of COMSEC. During Exercise AT 26-2, he led a five-member communications team, established a responsive shift escalation support team, and served as the Wing's focal point for real-world and exercise cyber incidents. His around-the-clock support ensured secure communications between aircrew and external agencies. At the same time, his strategic guidance, inspection preparation, and innovative problem-solving strengthened cyber operations and enhanced the 552nd Air Control Wing's readiness.

Inspired by his older sister's military service, Horne joined the Air Force to make her proud and has since built a career centered on leadership and service. His most memorable experience was supporting the 2021 Non-combatant Evacuation Operation in Qatar, where assisting displaced families reinforced his sense of purpose and commitment to helping others. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue developing his cybersecurity expertise through a Joint Communications Support Element assignment before transitioning those skills into entrepreneurship after his military career.
