🐢 A quick reminder for those enjoying the Squannacook River: Please be mindful not to impede areas along the river where turtle hatchlings and other wildlife may be making their way to and from the waterway.

This canoe was recently found blocking a passage used by wildlife and has been moved to the soccer fields parking lot, where its owner can pick it up. We had asked in the local neighborhood if anyone knew of its owner but no response was received.

We know this was likely unintentional just a friendly reminder that a little extra awareness goes a long way in helping protect our local wildlife and the Squannacook River habitat. 🐢🌿

The Townsend Select Board is sharing an update regarding the pending litigation involving the Town.

The statement provides residents with factual information on the status of the pending litigation, outlines the Town's approach moving forward, and reaffirms our commitment to maintaining municipal services and governing on behalf of all residents.

(Please note the first update had the incorrect courthouse location. Statement has been corrected to reflect Middlesex Superior Court House).
