The beginning of 2014 this beautiful person walked into my life when SOS decided to open a "lab" to provide educational services in the community. Alissia was newly living in TC with her husband Eric and their 3 small children. She was a teacher that wanted do something such as tutoring while she patiently waited for a position at NMC. She did a google search, emailed me, and the rest is history. The depth of her positive impact on myself, my daughter and the building of SOS with her calm gentle way of supporting my ideas for growth, there are no words...she built my second website, taught my daughter how to build our third, she did small writing groups, SAT prep, helped me with marketing, volunteered for Cherry Festival Special Kids Day and Safe Harbor, painted the famous poker (tutoring table), painted walls, donated MANY books, etc. I could go on and on about all the little ways she helped build the foundation before I could adequately pay her for all of her expertise. But what I will be forever grateful for is her pure, honest, kind friendship....Our walks and talks, yearly really nice restaurant dinner dates, bike rides, and family dinners. She was the most genuine, present, intentional person I've ever known (for real). She didn't care about what kind of house you lived in, what car you drove, if you wore make-up or not....she just cared about YOU and you always knew that. If she was spending time with you, she wasn't distracted by her phone, facebook or anything else. It's like she spent her short time on earth just sprinkling her specialness in such a quiet way, always making a steady impact on every person she met, whether it was a short period of time or for many years. To her parents, siblings, husband and children You are all loved...thank you for sharing her with SOS, me and Carlee and the rest of the community. Thank you Alissia for letting me be "your first TC friend" you will be deeply missed, but gosh did you ever leave a lasting impact on this world! ❤️
