As a precautionary warning, this is a test to see how the splash pad is received. Everything appears to be ready to test the waters, in a manner of speaking. The water has been tested and the temperatures are good. The Certified Pool Operators (CPO's) have blessed the soft opening. The city is aware of the opening and would like to see everyone enjoy themselves while we have the weather to do it.

The splash pad is ready for a *soft* opening this weekend! What does this mean!?

💧 Open 5:30-7:00 tonight (Friday 8/28)
💧 The water may take a minute to start and the features are cycled every 30 seconds for 2 minutes. Then, someone should *gently* press the button on the red pole to start it again.
💧 Issues should be reported to this page.
💧 If tonight goes well, we’ll have more hours this weekend!

🚧 Our space is still technically a construction zone, but we want to see people using the splash pad! We know there isn’t much usable room around the pad right now, but we’re still working hard on finishing everything up. Be careful and have fun!

Another example of where Treynor's Tomorrow is making it better in our community. The signage committee worked with the Treynor schools and the city of Treynor to increase the visibility of where visitor parking can be accessed. Good luck to Treynor in their first football game of the 2026 season tonight.

Yesterday, Treynor celebrated its 122nd birthday as it was incorporated on August 24, 1904. The history books for Treynor got this wrong and many believed for years that Treynor was incorporated in 1905. Why is this significant? A community is a place where people gather but a town or township has an official status and in 1904, Treynor gained that status with the State of Iowa. As you can see by the pictures below, a lot has been happening in the past few years, including growth. Our population numbers have been steadily growing but not out of control. Our population went from 1,032 in 2020 census to an estimate of 1,126 in 2026. That is healthy growth. We have experienced roughly a 9% growth since 2020. The only other town in Pottawattamie County that has grown is Underwood, which increased by 1% since 2020 from 950 to 958. In 2029, Treynor will be celebrating its Quasquicentennial (125 years). Happy belated birthday, Treynor.

It is hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. One of the calendar items to put on yours would be the annual fall garage sales and clean up.
