Fuel the Firehouse Crew
Thanks to a generous donation from Tyson Foods, the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation has frozen Angus Beef Patties and Ribbed Pork Patties available to fuel the firefighters in the Tucson Region. Local businesses can donate $100 to the Foundation, and we will deliver 20 pounds of donated meat to a Regional Fire Station on the business's behalf, giving your business a meaningful way to support the firefighters who serve our community.

Chief Mendoza and Chiefs from the Esqueda and Cananea Volunteer Fire Departments in Mexico took possession of 5 fire engines donated by Rural Metro Fire Department. The trucks will serve the firefighters and the people of their communities well!

As a firefighter, you’ll:

🔥 Respond to medical emergencies and provide lifesaving care.

🚒 Protect lives and property through fire suppression and rescue operations.

🛠️ Train in technical rescue, hazardous materials response, and emergency operations.

🤝 Educate and serve the community through fire prevention and outreach.

📚 Continuously train and grow as a professional firefighter.

Requirements:

✅ High School Diploma or GED

✅ Arizona or National Registry EMT/Paramedic Certification

✅ CPR Certification (ACLS for Paramedics)

✅ Valid Driver’s License

✅ Ability to complete the Fire Academy

No prior firefighting experience? No problem—Firefighter I/II and Hazmat certifications are preferred but not required.

Thank you, Pima Air and Space Museum, for inviting Rural Metro Fire out to their Locomotion Commotion this weekend. Our firefighters love to interact with kids and show them all of our cool toys!

Rural Metro Fire Prevention and E141 A shift attended the Little Hands Childcare Water Safety event along with Fire and Life Safety Education in South Tucson. The crews were amazing and the kids had an awesome time!

Tanque Verde Elementary School invited Rural Metro out to their water day event today! The kids had fun learning about fire safety and were treated to a cool-down afterwards!

RMFD crews responded to a vehicle fire that extended into a building this morning. 1 person sustained minor injuries but was not transported. Firefighters were able to stop further spread of the fire, and no other injuries were reported.

Station 71 crews had a special rescue! This big boy got stuck in a hole and crews were able to get down there hoist him out. Everyone is safe and sound and we found him a good home!!! Great job!
