💪 Showing Tough Spirit! 🚲

On Tuesday, Councilors joined first responders for the Saint Francis Tulsa Tough Kick-Off Relay ahead of the three-day cycling event.

Participants took turns carrying a tricycle up Crybaby Hill, navigating cones and a round of hopscotch, for a chance at the trophy and a donation to the charity of the winners' choice.

Congratulations to the Tulsa Fire Department for winning the race! And thanks to all the participants, Tulsa Police Department, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) and EMSA OKLAHOMA. It's good to know our first responders are meeting their fitness requirements! 😉

runs from June 5-7.

🍿 Admiral Twin Drive-In 75th Anniversary 🍿

Councilor Dutton joined City and community leaders for Admiral Twin Drive-In’s 75th Anniversary celebration!

The Admiral Twin Drive-In opened in 1951 and remains a cherished example of outdoor cinema and an iconic part of Tulsa’s history.

In 1983, the Admiral Twin Drive-In had the honor of serving as a film location for the classic movie The Outsiders, based on the novel by Tulsa author S.E. Hinton.

In 2010, the original wooden screens and supporting structures perished in a fire; however, a grassroots effort raised $30,000 to rebuild the local attraction.

Today, this classic drive-in continues to provide quality family entertainment for all Tulsans.

💡 TPS Spotlight 💡

Last week, representatives from Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) met with the Council to discuss recent successes, areas of growth and their plans for the voter-approved bond package.

At the meeting, Zachary Daniels, a Senior at McLain High School for Science & Technology, discussed his experience in Career Academy. He participated in the Manufacturing & Production Technician Program, where he received all four certifications, and served as an intern at a local company. As a result of Career Academy, Zach graduated with 12 college credits and will be working full-time at the company where he interned.

With the new bond package, TPS plans to enhance:
• Instructional materials
• STEM investments across K-12
• Arts and Athletics investments at every high school
• Driver’s Education
• Career Academies
