✨shelfie sunday️✨️

But its our last highlight post for the friends.
All of our friends pictures included books that we love and that are available for check out!

We didn't get to show off all of our friends but we hope you know every last one of you is appreciated! The last of our shout outs goes to our head librarian Tiffany, she isn't an official friend, but she is always lovely to work with and shows up to things even when she doesn't have to. We appreciate her dedication and the constant creativity she brings to the library.

If YOU are interested in becoming a friend of the library there are sign up sheets available during library buisness hours.

While we're celebrating the friends how can we forget our favorite library dog and "secretary" lola!

Our friends come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds here.

She may not be as spry as she once was, but she always has a wiggle for anyone who wants to give her a pet, and a head raise for anyone with a treat. She gives us so much joy and takes the best notes for someone who doesn't have thumbs.

Continuing our Friends Of The Library week with a board member appreciation post.

Jerry, he was once an assistant librarian but now is our residential book (and number) wizard. He's been our treasurer for the last several years. He demands every reciept, keeps our books straight and we can't be more greatful for his service.

Laura, who maybe doesn't want to show her face, but is our current assistant librarian and head of our membership. When we need to get ahold of someone, or just prove we have friends, she's the one with the records.

Wayne Hall is our co-chair. Which really means he shows up to do the work no one else wants to do. He shows up to do alot of heavy lifting and is somehow always available when no one else is.

And lastly our head chair of the friends, Kalyn Meeker. She's been our head chair for a couple of years now, started as a secretary and ended up with a lot more responsibility. She has sorted books, assisted with parades, is always okay with a community event.

It's national us week! This is the 21st observance for recognizing friends of the library nation wide and we wanted to take a minute to high light a couple of our friends.

Jed is relatively new to the friends but he came in ready to help! We can tell you, he will do *almost* anything that needs to be done and its not just us he volunteers for! He is an active volunteer for the Union Museum, VFW, and helps out with hunter safety classes.

Our second, but maybe our brightest, spotlight is shined on Ronda! We can't tell you how many years she's served the friends as not only a volunteer but also as a past board member. We can tell you, that without her kindness and generosity, the friends would not be what it is today nor would we be able to do what we do in general.

Thank you both for all of your help!

We have 2 more days for friends of the library week and we hope to have a couple more spotlights to share!

5 years of loving our most recent librarian! ❤️

5 years and we’re still together!
I was hired back in 2021 and it has been a fun 5 years as your librarian. We’ve got so many more interesting ideas in store. Happy anniversary to us, Union.

It's here! From now until October 30, 10 AM you are invited to turn in pumpkins in lieu of late fees!
Here's how it works:
Turn in any missing items.
Bring us a pumpkin and we will erase your late fees.
We use the pumpkin for our annual pumpkin painting event, October 30 10-12.
