Our annual Plant, Book & Bake Sale is almost here! This is one of our favorite days of the year, and we hope you'll join us.

Saturday, June 6th
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
at Vose Library

If you're hoping to snag the best plants, plan to arrive early; they go fast! Once the good ones are gone, they're gone.

We've got a great selection of books this year: fiction, non-fiction, a ton of kids’ books, and audiobooks. Come browse and stock up for summer reading.

Bake Sale Bakers & Volunteers Needed!
We're looking for volunteers to donate baked goods. Cookies, cakes, breads, whoopie pies, pies, muffins—whatever you love to make.

We also need helpers to man the bake sale on June 6th. Sign up for a 2-hour shift

Happy May! We've got something for everyone this month: storytime for the little ones, LEGOs for the builders, yoga for the early risers, and plenty of chances to hang out with your neighbors at Yarn & Stitch, Book Club, and Silent Book Club.

We have a few different things we could use here at Come Spring Food Pantry right now, including:
Spices, Salt & Pepper, Rice & Noodle Mixes (Like Knorr), Tortilla & Taco Shells, Baked Beans, Canned Chicken, Pet Food & Treats, Deodorant, Shampoo & Conditioner, Dish & Dishwasher Soap, and Laundry Detergent

Please know that we're happy to accept any and all donations!

If you have perishable food you'd like to share, you can drop it off on Tuesdays between 9:30-10:30, or during our open pantry days (1st Saturday and the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of every month from 10am - 1pm). Non-perishable foods may be dropped off during these times as well.

You can also drop off Non-Perishable donations to the pantry at the Vose Library Union Maine in the blue bins in the entryway during their regular business hours.

If these days/times don't work for you, please give us a call at (207) 509-9211 and we'll work out something that does!

We've got yoga, Story Time, LEGO Building, Yarn & Stitch, Book Club, Silent Book Club, and a new one, Love Your Local Fibershed on April 15th.

Can't believe another month has gone by!
We've made an updated list of the items we could use at the pantry. 💚

It includes -
Cake, Muffin & Bread Mixes, Cereal & Breakfast Foods, Canned Soups, Cooking Oil, Flour & Sugar, Spices & Sauces, Pet Food & Treats, Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent, Dish & Dishwasher Soap, Shampoo & Conditioner

Book club, but make it silent...

Join us at Vose Library for our monthly Silent Book Club!

What is Silent Book Club? We're glad you asked.

Silent Book Club is a global community of readers with chapters around the world who gather to read together in quiet camaraderie.

Unlike traditional book clubs, there is no assigned reading and no pressure to have something smart to say. You'll bring your own book, get some dedicated reading time in, and socialize with some fellow bookworms. It's a great way to build community and get some killer book recommendations.

Our Vose Library chapter meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM (at the library). We typically spend the first fifteen minutes catching up, drinking tea, and eating popcorn. Then we'll spend an hour reading in silence. Finally, we'll chat and hang out before heading home.

Join us this month on Tuesday, March 17th! Bring your current read or find a new one at the library.

Join us at Vose Library for a tree pruning workshop on Saturday, March 21st at 10:00 AM.

Cheryl Denz, owner and operator of Terra Optima Farm and Landscaping in Appleton, will teach pruning techniques needed to keep your trees productive.

Spaces are limited and are available on a first come basis, so RSVP to claim your spot!

To RSVP, email [email protected] and let us know how many people will be attending.

Dress appropriately for the weather, and please bring any pruning tools you may have (pruners, loppers, handsaw).
