Come Spring Food Pantry

Come Spring Food Pantry We're a food pantry in Union, ME serving residents in the surrounding areas. We're open the 1st Sat & the 2nd & 4th Wed of every month from 10:00am-1:00pm.

We follow RSU 40 policies for weather closures. We're also home to the Knox County Gleaners! The Come Spring Food Pantry was founded as a community service project for the Come Spring School (a school for children with special needs) over four decades ago! After the school closed the food pantry remained and continues to thrive. It is a 501-C3 organization. Donations to the Come Spring Food Pantry

are always welcome! You can mail your financial support to Come Spring Food Pantry PO BOX 524 Union ME 04862. Food, Toiletries, Pet Food, Baby Products, and other non-perishable donations can be dropped off at the food pantry during our Open Pantry Days (1st Sat and 2nd & 4th Wed of each month) from 10am - 1pm as well as Tuesday mornings between 9 - 10 am. The Vose Library has also generously offered to host bins for folks to drop in their non perishable donations. If you'd like to donate perishable food, or you need to arrange another time to drop off donations, please call us at (207) 509-9211. We are also home to the Knox County Gleaners. The gleaners help supply fresh fruits and veggies to residents and help farmers ensure none of their harvest will go to waste. All they have to do is call the Gleaners and we'll come harvest what's left and get it to those that need it! Contact us today at the info above to learn more about this program.

We are so excited for this upcoming concert!! πŸ’š If you'd like to come enjoy this beautiful music with us - while supporting a wonderful organization this is a fantastic opportunity! Midcoast Community Chorus raises money at each of their events to award a grant to a Midcoast nonprofit each year at this special June concert - ( Come Spring Food Pantry & The Knox County Gleaners are the lucky 2026 recipients of this incredibly generous donation!!)

The concert is being held Sunday, June 14th at 4pm at the Strom Auditorium. Support their incredible efforts for our community by buying a ticket (and some for your friends too!) at https://www.mccsings.org/tickets

Michael Weferling will be singing the solo on Higher Ground at the upcoming Midcoast Community Chorus concert June 14th!
Michael Weferling, Camden native and Camden Hills Regional HS alum (class of 2008), is elated
to return to the Strom Auditorium with his music mentor and former high school music
teacher, Kim Murphy!
Michael has spent many years on the stage of the Strom Auditorium – performing in choral concerts, and playing a variety of roles in the annual musicals. When
asked what his favorite role was, he said with certainty, Rum Tum Tugger in the musical Cats.
The concert will be held on June 14, 2026 at the Strom Auditorium, beginning at 4:00 PM.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at mccsings.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the
Rockland Grasshopper Shop or the Belfast Green Store.
Michael is currently looking forward to competing with his song submission for the Free 2-K Childcare for All Jingle Contest in the coming weeks where he will ask the Midcoast to vote for their hometown music maker for winning Free 2-K Jingle! Stay tuned for more information about this exciting adventure for Michael Weferling.

Thank you to all of our neighbors for being so lovely and kind while you shop. We really enjoy catching up and reconnecting with you each open pantry day! πŸ’š

Thank you to all of our volunteers - including the stockers, food picker-uppers, delivery and order managers, handy crew, gleaners, and all the others not with us on open pantry days - we couldn't do it without you all! πŸ’š

And thank you to each of you that give to the pantry. We're so grateful for all of your donations. It's quite literally what keeps the pantry operational! πŸ’š

Just goes to show that when we all work together, beautiful things happen! Thank you to each of you for making Come Spring Food Pantry the helpful, and caring place that it is.

We've got to thank the Camden Maine Lions Club for coming through with the baking mixes, cereals, soups and more for the pantry again! In fact, they collect donations for Come Spring Food Pantry at pretty much every meeting - and it's a HUGE help πŸ’š

Thank You to all of you for your continued kindness!!!

We've taken a look at the shelves here at the pantry, and we could use pretty much everything!

Here's a short list though of some common items our neighbors enjoy and we traditionally have a harder time sourcing:
Muffin & Cake Mixes
Spices, Seasonings & Sauces
Hearty Canned Soups
Granola & Cereal Bars
Rice & Noodle Mixes (Like Knorr)
Pet Food & Treats
Ground Coffee & Tea
Toiletries (Shampoo/Conditioner, Deodorant, Toothpaste, etc)
Dish & Dishwasher Soap
Laundry Detergent

If you have perishable food you'd like to share, you can drop it off on Tuesdays between 9:30-10:30, or during our open pantry days (1st Saturday and the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of every month from 10am - 1pm). Non-perishable foods may be dropped off during these times as well.

You can also drop off Non-Perishable donations to the pantry at the Vose Library Union Maine in the blue bins in the entryway during their regular business hours.

If these days/times don't work for you, please give us a call at (207) 509-9211 and we'll work out something that does!

Thank you so much for your continued support. We could not do any of this without YOU!πŸ’š

We've got more local chickens helping the pantry!! πŸ”
Some fine feathered friends over at the historic Whitney Farm in Appleton https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Farm have been working hard for our community! These ladies, and their generous humans πŸ’š donated quite a few dozen eggs to the pantry the other day (Sorry - we lost count!!). We're SO grateful for this wonderful gift!! Thank You Whitney Farm!!

As you know prices for everything are sky high. Being able to offer our neighbors local, nutritious food, like these eggs, is only possible because of strong support from our caring community. πŸ’š

Our community ROCKS!! Not only have you continued to drop off items for the pantry at Vose Library Union Maine during their regular business hours (there are 2 blue bins in the entryway for non-perishable donations for CSFP). But, you've also given through the US Postal Service Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! Held this past Saturday, residents left non-perishable donations for their mail carriers to collect and distribute to area food pantries, including Come Spring Food Pantry! πŸ’š

We deeply appreciate how you all continue to come together to make a difference for our community and ensure everyone has enough nutritious food to eat. Thank You to each and every one of youπŸ’š
