Come Spring Food Pantry

We're a food pantry in Union, ME serving residents in the surrounding areas. We're open the 1st Sat & the 2nd & 4th Wed of every month from 10:00am-1:00pm.

We follow RSU 40 policies for weather closures. We're also home to the Knox County Gleaners! The Come Spring Food Pantry was founded as a community service project for the Come Spring School (a school for children with special needs) over four decades ago! After the school closed the food pantry remained and continues to thrive. It is a 501-C3 organization. Donations to the Come Spring Food Pantry

are always welcome! You can mail your financial support to Come Spring Food Pantry PO BOX 524 Union ME 04862. Food, Toiletries, Pet Food, Baby Products, and other non-perishable donations can be dropped off at the food pantry during our Open Pantry Days (1st Sat and 2nd & 4th Wed of each month) from 10am - 1pm as well as Tuesday mornings between 9 - 10 am. The Vose Library has also generously offered to host bins for folks to drop in their non perishable donations. If you'd like to donate perishable food, or you need to arrange another time to drop off donations, please call us at (207) 509-9211. We are also home to the Knox County Gleaners. The gleaners help supply fresh fruits and veggies to residents and help farmers ensure none of their harvest will go to waste. All they have to do is call the Gleaners and we'll come harvest what's left and get it to those that need it! Contact us today at the info above to learn more about this program.

Head on over to Vose Library Union Maine during their regular open hours and take home some of these BEAUTIFUL veggies from the Knox County Gleaners and our fantastic partner farms!! 💚

Please enjoy these tasty, local, nutritious veggies knowing that by doing so, you helped reduce food waste in our community!

We graciously accepted ANOTHER 100lb donation from our friend who is closing down her store 💚

It's been a wonderful opportunity for the pantry to share some items we don't usually receive - and they were a BIG hit again Wednesday at our open pantry day!!

If you can believe it tomorrow is the 4th - and last - Wednesday in August. And, that means that Come Spring Food Pantry will be OPEN!!

We'll be here from 10am - 1pm with loads of fresh veggies, along with frozen meats, canned soups, bread, cheese, butter, eggs, cereal, peanut butter, juice, mac & cheese, some gluten free items (like flour!), pet food, toiletries, and more including - School Supplies, courtesy of our friends Cass & Macy, for all those kiddos heading back to school. 💚

We'd like to share our updated list for August of things we could use at the pantry. Of course we can find a home for pretty much any food item you'd like to donate ;) But here are a few things that we definitely do not have right now and could really use -

Salsa & Sauces / Marinades, Seasoning Packets & Spices, Baking & Cake Mixes, Stuffing, Rice & Pasta Mixes, Canned Chicken & Tuna, Dry Pet Food & Treats, Toiletries, Toilet Paper & Tissues, Laundry Detergent, and Tea & Ground Coffee.

Donations to Come Spring Food Pantry can be dropped off in several ways -
🐞Tuesdays at the pantry between 9am and 10am.
🦋Any open pantry day (The 1st Saturday and the 2nd and 4th
Wednesdays of each month from 10am-1pm.)
🐝At the Vose Library Union Maine in the blue bins in their entryway during their regular business hours.

Cass and Macy stopped by today to deliver some school supplies to the pantry! 💚

Macy is excited to go back to school soon, and she's had a great time getting ready for the year ahead. She wanted to extend that fun to other kids in her community as well. So she and her mom gathered up all the wonderful items you see here in the photos (markers, colored pencils, glue sticks, headphones, anti-bacterial wipes, calculators, and SO much more!!) and brought them to the pantry!

We are SO overjoyed by their thoughtfulness and generosity!! 💚💚

And we're thrilled to have the opportunity to help Cass and Macy find homes for all these fabulous school supplies!

They will be available during our open pantry days - The first Saturday and the Second and Fourth Wednesdays of each month - from 10am - 1pm.

We recently received an incredibly generous donation of a variety of Scone Goddess mixes - and folks are loving them!

They're super easy to make (just have to add cream!) and the scones are delicious. These have been a welcome addition to our pantry shelves for sure!!

If you're out shopping at the Hannaford Supermarkets and happen to forget your reusable bags - not to worry! You can purchase some at the store that will provide a $1 donation to an area nonprofit - and for the month of August that nonprofit is Us!!

So support Come Spring Food Pantry AND ensure you protect the planet at the same time with your reusable bag purchase at the Rockland, ME Hannaford store - throughout the month of August!!

Our friend who shared their bonus from work with us a bit ago must be pretty amazing at their job - cause they received some more financial recognition for their continued excellence!!!
