When 11-year-old Cordy came to us, her ears were completely covered in growths. She had every reason to be tired of the hand life had dealt her—but Cordy walked through our doors with a wiggly butt, a wagging tail, and nothing but love for everyone she met. Thanks to our incredible medical team, many of those growths have now been removed, and just LOOK at our girl.

She’s the kind of girl who will happily be by your side and soak up all the love and attention you’re willing to give her. 🥰

🌈🎨 Somewhere over the rainbow… there’s apparently a 70-pound Bernese Mountain Dog. 🎨🌈

Rainbowland is a sweet young Berner who spent her first couple of years in a world that was decidedly more gray skies than technicolor. But those clouds are clearing, and this girl is finally getting the chance to discover that life comes in a whole lot more colors. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

And so far? She likes what she sees.

Rainbowland is still learning about this strange new world, but her true colors are already starting to peek through. 🌈 She’s discovered the joy of playing with her Berner buddies, the thrill of a good set of zoomies 💨, and — perhaps most importantly — the fine art of collapsing into a magnificent post-playdate nap. 😴

Don’t let the pictures fool you, either. Rainbowland may photograph like a dainty little watercolor, but in person she’s a 70-pound oil painting. 😂🖼️ There is a LOT more Rainbowland than the camera would have you believe.

She’s looking for a patient, understanding family with kids 13 and older who can give her the time and space she needs while she learns that home life means soft beds, kind hands, ridiculous toys, tasty snacks, and humans who think you’re wonderful just because you exist. 🥹❤️

Rainbowland has also done well with gentle, similarly sized canine friends and may appreciate having a confident dog buddy to help add a little color to her new world. 🐶🌈

Her forecast hasn’t always been sunshine. 🌧️ But the storm clouds are moving out, the zoomies are moving in, and we have a feeling Rainbowland’s brightest days are still ahead. ☀️

Now she just needs someone willing to grab a paintbrush and help her fill in the rest. 🎨💕 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

🎶 Joplin has entered the building… and she is considerably wider than her namesake. 🎶

Janis Joplin was famously slight of frame. Our Joplin? Well… she’s built more like the tour bus. 😂🚌🐾 This young Bernese Mountain Dog is a gloriously substantial lady with enough fluff, girth, and Berner real estate to make you wonder if “dog” is really the appropriate unit of measurement.

Joplin came to us from a life where dogs were plentiful but things like cozy homes, family life, and being someone’s beloved pet were pretty unfamiliar. And yet, she quickly appointed herself Social Ambassador of the Berner Delegation. 🏅🐶 While some of her friends are still figuring out this whole new world, Joplin has been bravely leading the charge like, “Come on, guys. I checked. The humans have snacks.”

And boy, has she discovered some things. Puppy popsicles? Huge fan. 🍧 Walks? Delightful. Nose boops? Acceptable currency. 👃👉🐶 Soft beds and stuffed animals? We have a strong suspicion she’ll soon be exercising squatter’s rights. 🛏️🧸

Joplin is looking for a patient, understanding family with kids 13 and older who can give her time to adjust to all the strange and wonderful things that come with living in a home. She’s already done beautifully with gentle, similarly sized dogs and may enjoy having a canine friend to help show her the ropes. 🐾❤️

If you’re looking for a sweet, brave girl who is learning that life can be pretty darn good — and you have sufficient square footage to accommodate the widest member of the Joplin fan club — come meet her. 😂

🐾 FRIDAY FOSTER FEATURE: Sizzle Has a Favor to Ask… 🥺❤️

Can she crash at your place? 🏡

Our sweet Sizzle is having a hard time. At just 1½ years old, shelter life has become too stressful for her, and what she needs right now isn’t another day in a kennel—it’s a quiet place to land. Sizzle is looking for a long-term foster home where she can finally exhale, settle into a routine and enjoy the things she loves most: walks, toys, cuddles and hanging out with her people.

She’s a sensitive girl, and all the noise and activity of the shelter can be overwhelming. Give her a peaceful environment and a little patience, though, and you’ll get to see the sweet, silly, affectionate Sizzle we know and love.

Don’t let that 7-year-old label fool you—Drax is young at heart and still has PLENTY of pep in his step! This handsome Pit mix is a playful, energetic guy who believes there’s no such thing as being too old for a good romp, some fun, and lots of love. 🥰

Drax especially enjoys hanging out with playful female dogs who can match his enthusiasm and keep the good times rolling! He’s a friendly, good-natured boy who truly enjoys companionship and would love a home where he can get plenty of attention, playtime, and opportunities to show off his silly side. 🐶💕

Whether he’s making new friends, enjoying an adventure, or soaking up attention from his favorite people, Drax is happiest when he’s included in the fun. He has a happy personality, a loving heart, and so much life left to live!
