The Morgan County R-II School District (Versailles, MO) is seeking a full-time Gifted & Talented Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must hold a valid Missouri DESE Gifted Education certification or demonstrate willingness to obtain certification within a district-approved timeline. This is a nine-month contract. The position is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Special Services.

Primary Duties:
- Provide direct instructional services to students identified as gifted in accordance with Missouri DESE guidelines.
- Collaborate with general educational teachers to support differentiated and enriched instruction.
- Participate in the identification, evaluation, and placement of gifted students.
- Develop and implement appropriate learning plans and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development, meetings, and other duties as assigned.

📣🐅Join Our Team - Middle School Girls Physical Education Paraprofessional🐅📣

Versailles Middle School, is seeking a dependable, student-centered Girls Physical Education Paraprofessional for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time, nine-month position supervised and evaluated by the Versailles Middle School Principal.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the physical education teacher with daily instruction and activities
- Help supervise students during class, locker room transitions, and school-related activities
- Support student engagement, participation, and positive behavior
- Reinforce safety procedures and appropriate sportsmanship
- Assist with setting up, organizing, and maintaining gym equipment and materials
- Help monitor attendance and student accountability
- Support students with varying needs and abilities
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with staff and administration
- Assist with other duties assigned by the administration or supervising teacher.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 60 college hours, substitute certificate, or qualifications required by Missouri DESE for paraprofessional positions, experience working with middle school-aged students preferred, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff and students, positive attitude and ability to build relationships with students, and interest in physical education, fitness, athletics, or student wellness preferred. The Morgan County R-II School District is now accepting applications for day or evening custodians. These positions are a full-time and include retirement, sick leave, vacation, and insurance benefits.

Reports To: Facilities/Maintenance Director
Starting Salary: $15.50/hour

Essential Duties:
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and vacuum floors; empty trash and recycling.
- Sanitize restrooms, wipe desks and high-touch surfaces, restock supplies.
- Set up/tear down rooms for events and meetings.
- Lock and secure buildings at the end of shift.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or vandalism.
- Perform minor repairs and operate custodial equipment safely.
- Assist with snow removal or weather-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.

🎤 Real-world learning in action!

Students in Mrs. Hanks’ English II classes recently sharpened their communication and career-readiness skills through mock interviews with a variety of school leaders and staff members. Students had the opportunity to interview with faculty and staff, the superintendent, and even a member of the Board of Education!

These experiences helped students practice professionalism, confidence, eye contact, and effective communication skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help prepare our students for future success!

🧀🔥 Grilled Cheese Wars in Mrs. Rayl’s FACS Class! 🔥🧀

Things got cheesy in the best way possible as students in Miss Hannah Rayl’s middle school Family and Consumer Sciences class put their culinary skills to the test during “Grilled Cheese Wars!” Students worked creatively to craft the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich while practicing important kitchen safety, teamwork, and cooking techniques.

Our superintendent, Dr. Bryan Pettengill, as well as Mrs. Bland, Mrs. Turner, and Mrs. Angela Rayl judged the grilled cheese creations based on taste and plating, among other categories. The students worked in groups to research, create their recipe, shopping lists, and cook their sandwhiches.

The judges enjoyed each grilled cheese they tasted. Great job to all of our students for their creativity, effort, and teamwork in the kitchen! 👏🖤💛
