Excellence Recognized at Operation Sentinel Justice

CAMP SHELBY, Miss. - Congratulations to Staff Sgt. Sean Laughlin, 389th Engineer Battalion, and Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Matt, 458th Engineer Battalion, for being recognized for their outstanding performance during Operation Sentinel Justice.

Brig. Gen. Sandra Martin, Deputy Commanding General–Support, 412th Theater Engineer Command, presented each Soldier with the Commanding General’s Coin in recognition of their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to mission success.

CAMP SHELBY, Miss. - Maj. Gen. Kent J. Lightner, Commanding General of the 412th Theater Engineer Command, visited multiple training sites during as his first field visit as the new commander of the 412th TEC.

Throughout the visit, Lightner met with Soldiers, observed training, and reinforced the importance of safety, readiness, and continuous learning. He encouraged Soldiers to take advantage of every training opportunity and challenged them to learn something new each day.

During the visit, Maj. Gen. Lightner recognized several outstanding Soldiers for their professionalism, dedication, and performance, presenting them with the Commanding General’s coin:

The Army Engineer Association, in coordination with the U.S. Army Engineer School is proud to announce the 2026 Essayons Club topic. 🤖 This Year's Focus is Autonomous Breaching Capabilities (SOSRA and DOTMLPF-P considerations). This is an opportunity to illustrate insights into feasible solutions and demonstrate sharp critical thinking to the Army Engineer community ⚔️. Recognition and awards include up to 3 Outstanding Awards of $500, up to 3 Superior awards of $250, and publication in the Army Engineer Magazine. The deadline is 1 December. Good Luck!

CAMP SHELBY, Miss. - Brig. Gen. Charles Bell, Deputy Commanding General–Operations, 412th Theater Engineer Command, welcomed Brig. Gen. Honsik Choi, Joint Chiefs of Staff Director of Engineers for the Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy, and his staff to Camp Shelby during Operation Sentinel Justice.

During the visit, BG Choi toured several key training sites, including the helipad construction project, LOC-B training area, and the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) site, where he participated in hands-on training and observed Soldiers in action.

The visit concluded with a meeting with Maj. Gen. Matthew S. Warne, Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Reserve, and Sgt. Maj. Ryan Bodmer, Sergeant Major to the Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Reserve.

BG Choi’s visit highlighted the enduring partnership between the 412th Theater Engineer Command and the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, reinforcing a shared commitment to readiness, interoperability, and strengthening alliances through combined training and cooperation.

🏆 Top Gun Champions! 🏆

Congratulations to “Honey Badger 2” from the 365th Engineer Battalion for dominating the Top Gun Crew-Served Weapons Competition during Operation Sentinel Justice!

Not only did the crew earn 1st Place, they were the only team to achieve a Superior rating, scoring an impressive 873 points with 9 successful engagements.
