Our team was out in the community for the Point-in-Time Count. An effort that helps ensure individuals and families experiencing homelessness are seen, counted, and connected to resources.

The PIT Count is more than data. It’s about listening to people’s stories, understanding their pathways into homelessness, and using that information to advocate for funding, programs, and solutions that truly meet community needs.

Mahalo to our partners for standing shoulder to shoulder with us in this important work. Together, we move closer to a system rooted in dignity, accuracy, and care.

As we step into a new year, we’re reflecting with deep gratitude.

In 2025, U.S.VETS Hawaiʻi - across our Barber’s Point and Waiʻanae sites - served more than 2,700 individuals, including nearly 1,000 veterans and hundreds of keiki and family members. Together, we provided 100,000+ nights of housing, 65,000+ meals, supported 130+ job placements, and helped 300+ people move into permanent homes.

Behind every number is a person.
A veteran rebuilding stability.
A family finding hope.
A child sleeping safely tonight.

None of this happens without partnership. Mahalo to our funders, community partners, volunteers, and frontline staff for believing in prevention, dignity, and long-term solutions.

As we look at 2026, we’re building toward a Veteran Prevention Hub, opening a Westside Career Lab, and advancing housing ownership and development because stability should be possible here at home.

Together, we move forward.

✨🎄 Tonight at U.S.VETS Wai'anae, the spirit of Christmas filled our campus in the most meaningful way.

Thanks to the generosity of Secret Santa Project, we welcomed over 200 individuals, including 100 keiki, for our annual Christmas festivities.

The holidays can be both festive and solemn. Some of our residents were ready to rock around the Christmas tree, while others found comfort in a quiet, silent night. What mattered most is that they had the choice—and that they weren’t alone.

Because of partners like the Secret Santa Project, we’re able to show up with compassion, flexibility, and care—meeting people exactly where they are this season.

Mahalo for helping us create a space where joy, reflection, and hope can all exist together. ❤️🎁🌟

On this Memorial Day, U.S.VETS pays tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, commitment, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we remember the fallen, we also recommit to our mission of serving those who served. Let us honor their legacy by standing with our veterans—today and every day.

This week, we’re celebrating the heart and soul of our mission — our incredible volunteers! 💛

Today, we are speaking with Christine Waters, a dedicated volunteer with the American Red Cross!

Your time, compassion, and dedication make a real difference in the lives of our veterans. Whether you're serving meals, mentoring, or lending a listening ear — YOU are helping build brighter futures every day.

Meet Sabrina, a shining example of resilience and dedication. Once a resident at our U.S.VETS shelter, she overcame challenges, rebuilt her life, and is now giving back as a valued member of our team. Her story is a testament to the power of support, determination, and second chances.

Now, she is helping others find the same hope and stability she once sought. If you would like to support U.S.VETS and individuals like Sabrina, please visit:

Breaking Ground on the Seeds of Hope Garden!

A huge mahalo to Bayer U.S. Hawaii and The Home Depot for making this project a reality. With Bayer’s incredible support—450 volunteer hours, 24 tons of gravel, 10 tons of soil, and a brand-new irrigation system—we’ve officially broken ground at our Wai‘anae Civic Center shelter.

This is a major step in our therapeutic program, helping our clients reconnect with the ‘āina as they continue their journey toward healing and rehabilitation.

Shoutout to The HomeDepot for donating materials for our planter boxes. Your generosity and commitment to the community are deeply appreciated.

KITV covered the story! Check it out here: https://www.kitv.com/news/waianae-veterans-garden-plants-seeds-to-reduce-homelessness/article_3ed63ffc-fe46-11ef-9dbb-2723b1e03956.html

A unique program was unveiled at U.S. VETS Waianae on how to get homeless veterans connected and reintegrated into society.
