The APLD Sacramento District is delighted to invite you to enjoy a Spring garden tour of Patricia Carpenter’s Native gardens in Davis, CA. 🌸

Patricia Carpenter hiked and traveled all over California, and fell in love with the native countryside. When she was given the opportunity to start her own native plant garden, she jumped. She wanted to learn more about native plants, and this was a chance to do just that.

Patricia started her native plant garden in the spring of 2005 along the slough bordering her property. The intention was to include only CA native plants on this 1-acre, wild escape, which now features over 400 species and cultivars. From the beginning her garden has benefited from the efforts of many students, neighbors, knowledgeable visitors, and dedicated interns.
We are aiming to start the event around 10:00 am. Patricia will then guide us through the garden. Patricia has graciously offered the garden grounds for us to have lunch.

Please bring your own lunch, a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.

The district will provide soft drinks and cookies.

Merritt College Horticulture Spring Plant Fair

Merritt College Landscape Horticulture Department is having a spring plant sale! It will be held at our recently renovated site. We now have larger classrooms, state of the art greenhouses, and newly landscaped grounds. Spend the day walking around the department and gardens, listening to music, eating delicious food, and shopping for plants!
