There will be a Flat Creek Drainage District meeting on Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30 PM at the Lawrence County Courthouse. This meeting will be to select new board members.

The Lawrence County Courthouse will be closed Monday, May 25th, for Memorial Day. We will be back on Tuesday, May 26th. Have a safe holiday weekend.

‼️Spring cleaning time is here! The county will be providing their dumpster June 8th through June 13th. It won't be available again until September, so start cleaning, preparing and planning now‼️

Lawrence County will have Class IV dumpsters available June 8th, through June 13th. The dumpsters are for non-household waste, such as appliances and furniture. No tires, shingles, building materials, etc. will be accepted.

The dumpsters will be located at the Lawrence County Road Shop on Highway 367, South of Hoxie. The dumpsters will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, June 8th, through Friday, June 12th and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. or until the dumpster becomes full on Saturday, June 13th. The dumpster will no longer be available for dumping after noon or when it becomes full on Saturday.

The Threat of Severe Weather is likely tonight. Large Hail, Damaging Winds and Tornado's are all possible. Stay Tuned to local TV for Updates and have multiple ways to receive warnings. A Reminder that Tornado Sirens are meant for Outdoor Warnings only and should not be relied on as your only source to receive weather information.

A Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for Tornado's to develop.

A Tornado Warning means that the treat for a Tornado is imminent and you should take cover immediately. If a Tornado Warning is issued for your location, you should get inside a sturdy building to the lowest level or the most interior room and cover your head.

The Hoxie Public School Safe Room (506 SW Hartigan) will be open to the public starting at 4:00 PM

The Basement of the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Saffell (450 Hwy 25) will be open as a storm shelter.

The Sloan-Hendrix Public School Fine Arts Safe Room will be open as a storm shelter if the need arises.
