April 21 is the same deadline for current voters to make any changes to your current voter registration. This deadline applies to updating information on current registrations such as a name change, your physical address, or party affiliation.

Early Voting Opens at Two Locations for Hardy County This Year:
Early voting for the West Virginia May 2026 Primary will begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. This year marks the first time Hardy County will offer two early voting locations.
As required by West Virginia Code, the County Courthouse on Washington Street in Moorefield will continue to serve as an early voting site. In addition, the County Clerk’s Office successfully completed all required publications and filings within the designated deadlines, allowing a request for a second location to be presented to the County Commission.
In support of the County Clerk’s request, the County Commission approved a second early voting location on the eastern side of the county. This site will be located at the HCEAA building along State Route 55 in Baker.
Both locations will operate during the following hours:
• Weekdays: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The last day for early voting is Saturday, May 9, 2026.

It has been brought to our attention there is confusion about the vetting process.
ALL local Republican candidates and Board of Education candidates have been sent a questionnaire. This questionnaire gives candidates an opportunity to tell about themselves, experiences, perceptions and their intentions if elected. This vetting process is an educational tool for voters to learn about candidates.
BY NO MEANS is this an attempt to sway, lead, persuade, or in any way meant to give ANY candidate an edge over another. As a committee, we ARE NOT endorsing any candidate.

All GOP primary candidates for County Commission, County Clerk, Delegate, and State Senate -- as well as all non-partisan candidates for the Board of Education election -- should have received a Q&A form as well as an invite to the Meet the Candidate event on April 16.
