It's that time again; SUMMER READING is back in action at WCPL! This summer's theme is "Unearth A Story," a chance for young and old archaeological bibliophiles to unearth and hone their reading skills. Prizes, events, Dino sightings… OH MY! This summer reading program is one you don't want to miss. So, dust off your reading tools, and let's unearth a story!
Summer Reading Dates:
- Begins(Youth & Adult): JUNE 1

- Summer Reading Ends: JUNE 30
Information
Adult:
The first day to pick up prizes will be June 8. The last day to assign tickets for grand prizes is June 30. The last day to pick up grand prizes is July 31.
Participants will earn incentive prizes and tickets every 250 pages through 1,500 pages, and tickets every 250 pages through 7,000 pages.
In addition to the reading, participants may complete 2 activity packets of 8 pages each for a total of 16 tickets (1 ticket per page). There is also an online scavenger hunt that is completed by visiting WCPL’s website.
Youth:
For every 200 pages read (up to 800 pages): Earn a prize and a ticket.
Key Milestones:
- At 200 and 600 pages: Choose your own prize.
- At 400 and 800 pages:
- Receive an assigned prize.
- Get a coupon for a local business.
- Earn a ticket for the grand prize drawing.
Beyond 800 Pages:
Prize awards stop after reaching 800 pages, but participants can keep earning drawing tickets up to 10,000 pages.
Additionally, complete a packet of 4 activity pages for 4 additional tickets!
