This month, we’re celebrating the artistic talents of one of WCPL's very own! Susie Deaton, head of WCPL’s Youth Services Department, is displaying her artwork in our Hallway Gallery.

A Warsaw native, Susie finds inspiration in the natural world, especially trees. Painting offers her a chance to slow down, relax, and step away from the stresses of everyday life. As she puts it, “Painting brings me peace.”

Susie’s roots in the Warsaw area run deep. Her mom, brother, and sister-in-law all live nearby, while her son lives and works in Fort Wayne.

We invite you to visit the Hallway Gallery to enjoy Susie's collection, on display until the end of October!

As part of an ongoing commitment to providing secure access to digital resources, Libby will require a PIN in addition to your library card number starting Oct. 14.

This requirement applies when you log in to the Libby app on a mobile device, Libbyapp.com, or the classic OverDrive website. In addition, your PIN will be required the first time you log into the Kanopy app or website.

Meet the newest member of the WCPL team: Executive Director Joe Fox!

Here’s a little bit about Joe, in his own words:

“I grew up across the tracks from a Carnegie library very similar to WCPL.

I knew I wanted to be a librarian when I was six or seven years old.

I’ve worked in libraries for 28 years.

While I am definitely a talker, I enjoy listening—especially when people want to talk about libraries.

I am a strong believer in libraries. They raise the value of communities in real ways and, definitely, in intangible ways.

I want our staff to try new things, be bold, trust the process, and know that some things work well and some things don’t.

I’ll try almost anything. Two things I won’t try are roller coasters and skydiving.

I don’t eat cheese.

My favorite book of all time is Jurassic Park.”

So, if you see Joe around town or at the library, make sure to say hello!
