Well ICYMI, a fundraiser for Santos has been indicted for raising campaign funds under false pretenses.
To catch you up: In February, we filed an FEC complaint against George Santos asserting that Sam Miele, a fundraiser for Santos' congressional campaigns in 2020 and 2022, broke the law by impersonating Dan Meyer—the chief of staff of then Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy—to solicit campaign funds. The fraudulent activity was a giant red flag that McCarthy knew about as early as August 2021. Despite knowing how Santos broke the law, McCarthy decided to keep quiet, allowing for the corruption and deceit to persist.
Samuel Miele was indicted on Wednesday for allegedly impersonating a high-ranking aide to a member of the House with leadership responsibilities.
The Supreme Court may be out of session but Justice Clarence Thomas remains front and center in the news. Just last week, a ProPublica report exposed the Justices' billionaire-funded, undisclosed luxury trips which included: 38 destination vacations, 26 private jet flights, multiple VIP passes to sporting events, and two resort stays.
These revelations raise serious concern about Thomas' tenure on the Court. It's time for Clarence Thomas to resign and Congress to pass the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency (SCERT) Act.
