We are raising funds and gathering supplies for a kitchen remodel in our shelter! The current 1980's kitchen suffers from mismatched cabinets (some missing doors), one stove burner not working, dishwasher not working, rusty-front refrigerator, and three layers of wall covering showing! It also has a breakfast bar creating a "U" shaped kitchen. The remodel will include creating a safer "open" kitchen space. Our Pampered Chef BINGO party will be held June 27th at 2:00 pm. All funds raised will help with the remodel! If you do not need anything for your kitchen, you can purchase something for the new one! Or, you can make a monetary donation through Venmo () or by mailing a check to 4886 East Alder Drive, Wasilla, AK 99654. Please add "Kitchen Remodel" in the memo. How is Family Promise Different than other Homeless shelter providers?

I equate it to watching professional surfers catch a ride on huge waves and thinking I know how to do that just because I can get on a boogie-board or body surf to the shore on a two-foot wave. The professionals in our work are the homeless. They should be the teachers. They should be the voices that are heard. And what may work for one may not work for all. Just like any other individual or family. They should not be put in a proverbial box, labeled and expected to meet a pre-designed plan created by someone who may have experienced a night or two of homelessness or drove by a homeless camp and dropped some ideas into a case plan.

At Family Promise, we listen, we help the family develop their own plan that will meet their unique situation, and we provide support and resources to help them meet their goals.

Your support helps us continue doing what we do. Providing meals, gas cards, applications for community resources, and our time listening and caring are all part of each family's success in our programs. Thank you for helping us help others out of homelessness and into homes.

Thank you for your valuable time! Every volunteer hour saves our organization thousands of dollars every month, money that we are able to spend on our families to help them reach their goals. We can pay for them to get photo identification, minor car repairs, toiletries, laundry supplies, snacks for children, and more because of YOU!

We are raising funds to repair our roof. The vent blew out in the crawl space, threw some things around causing damage to a sheet of sheetrock. Blown insulation fell to the floor below. We are raising funds to make repairs so that we don't continue to lose heat! Funds raised through this Givebutter campaign will help us keep our space warm for all who enter!

Any amount will help us reach our goal! Any extra funds will be applied to our sheltered families for gas cards, meals, laundry supplies, personal hygiene and paper products.
