Last week, NEIFB staff, board members, and friends attended the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier's 8 Over 80 awards, celebrating individuals who have made a lasting difference in the Cedar Valley through their service and dedication to the community.

We were especially excited to celebrate our Honorary Capacity Campaign Chairs, Ken and Patty Cutts, as they were recognized for all they do to make the Cedar Valley a better place.

Congratulations, Ken and Patty, on this well-deserved honor!

CAPACITY CAMPAIGN: We are now in our 12th month of construction as we continue building for the future of hunger relief across northeast Iowa.

Exciting progress is taking place across our campus. Staff have moved into the new office space, the expanded loading dock is complete, and the new Cedar Valley Food Pantry is expected to open in just a couple of months. Construction is also now underway on our new volunteer space, clean room, and expanded cooler and freezer areas. Each of these improvements will strengthen our ability to store, distribute, and provide access to nutritious food throughout our 16-county service area.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Capacity Campaign so far. Your support is helping ensure we can meet today's growing need while building the capacity to serve northeast Iowa for years to come.

Help us continue this work. Donate today at neifb.org/capacity.

$16 a month helps provide up to 40 meals.

We believe food is a basic human right. Stand with us each month by joining Team NEIFB today! Click here: https://donorbox.org/team-neifb-fighting-hunger-in-your-community

Counties served: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy, Howard, Mitchell, Poweshiek, Tama, and Winneshiek

THANK YOU: For your ongoing support and generosity, thank you, John Deere. Time and again, John Deere shows up for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank through volunteerism, financial support, and advocacy. They are one of our reliable partners in the fight against hunger.

This week alone, more than five John Deere volunteer groups will visit NEIFB to help assemble hundreds of BackPack Program meals for children across northeast Iowa. This weekend, John Deere is also hosting a charitable 5K during Deere Days at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum. In addition, they donated a miniature replica Model D John Deere Tractor to help raise additional funds through a Deere Days raffle.

Entries can be purchased now by visiting: https://givebutter.com/john-deere-days

Entry ticket sales are as followed:
- $5 for one drawing entry.
- $20 for five drawing entries.

All proceeds raised directly benefit the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

*Digital drawing. No physical tickets will be issued. There are no limits to entries. Winner will be chosen and contacted on Monday, June 15th.

Thank you, John Deere, for your continued partnership and commitment to helping ensure more people have the food they need.

We Champion Collaboration: The power of teamwork was on full display last week at NEIFB. The Cedar Valley Men's Shed group rolled up their sleeves and came together to build six beautiful new raised garden beds for our community garden, and they're planning to return to build even more.

Their teamwork, dedication, and willingness to serve were impressive. Each person brought unique skills and energy to the project, creating something meaningful together. The result is stunning craftsmanship, a stronger community garden, and expanded opportunities to grow fresh produce for those we serve.

We are grateful for their generosity and hard work. Thank you, Cedar Valley Men's Shed, for showing what collaboration can accomplish.
