PARADE ANNOUNCEMENT

The annual Waynesfield-Goshen Schools Homecoming parade application has been approved and will be at 6:30 pm on September 10, 2026.

The parade route will begin at the north drive of the school. The parade will travel to the stoplight, turn left and head east until just before the gas station, where the parade will turn around and end at the north drive of the school.

Any questions regarding having a vehicle/float in the parade, powderpuff game, or other Homecoming festivities, should be directed to W-G Schools at 419-568-9100.

STANDING WATER CAUTION ADVISED

There's high water all over the region, so use caution while traveling. If you decide to use the Gold Star Families Walking Path at the Waynesfield Veterans Memorial Park this morning, consider training for a swimming event as the path is currently under water in several spots. Seriously, though, the water is moving (albeit slowly) so be careful.

A vehicle key fob was located hanging on a post by the tent at the Waynesfield Veterans Memorial Park this weekend. If this is yours, please contact the Waynesfield Police Department at 419-568-9080 or by private Facebook message through the Waynesfield PD page to identify and claim it. Thanks!

What a weekend! Many thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped pull off a great park dedication at the Waynesfield Veterans Memorial Park this weekend. A very special thank you to the Selfless Souls Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club who donated 22 bicycles for Waynesfield area kids to enjoy! Thank you also for the amazing gift of the wood art donation! So, so many positive comments were received this weekend, which is why we're reminded that living in our small community is something to be celebrated!

POWER OUTAGE

The power outage is an area wide outage that is an AES issue. Electric substations at Indian Lake, New Hampshire and Waynesfield are all impacted. Time of restoration is currently unknown and AES crews are being contacted to address the issue.

The park dedication is still happening! Come down to honor our service members, and get some food!

PARK DEDICATION & CELEBRATION THIS SATURDAY

To celebrate an amazing partnership between residents, the Village of Waynesfield and the State of Ohio, everyone is invited to a fun day this Saturday (see schedule below)!

Over 25 bicycles will be given away through a partnership between Selfless Souls Motorcycle Club and the Waynesfield Police Department, Buckland Bistro will be selling amazing food, and history will play out live at the park dedication ceremony. Bring your family and enjoy a day at the park!

Tragedy in the small town of Rittman

The Waynesfield Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family of fallen Officer Sgt. Scott Ries, from Rittman Police Department (Wayne County, Ohio), who was killed in the line of duty.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his fellow officers, and the entire community during this unimaginably difficult time. We honor his service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.
