Chelan Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services - VAS Our volunteers provide our clients with high quality, free, civil legal services.

CDCVAS helps pair low-income people with civil legal problems in Chelan and Douglas Counties with volunteer attorneys from our local Chelan-Douglas Bar Association. Chelan and Douglas counties have some of the highest poverty levels in Washington. VAS achieves justice in this community by helping low-income people with civil legal problems through high quality, pro bono legal services. We accompl

ish this mission by enlisting the help of volunteer attorneys from our local Chelan-Douglas Bar. Volunteer attorneys assist clients from Chelan and Douglas counties who meet financial eligibility standards and who have been screened and interviewed on discreet civil legal issues. A client’s household income and resources must be at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level to be eligible for VAS services. VAS is successful in providing access to justice for people in need in our local community only with your support. Each year, VAS helps hundreds of families and individuals get legal assistance when they need it most. From 2011 to 2012 alone, VAS attended to nearly 900 clients with legal problems in the areas of consumer, family, housing, estate planning, and employment law, among others. VAS programs include multiple clinics & opportunities for pro bono legal service:
• Family Law clinic every Tuesday and General Law clinic every Thursday at VAS's office
• Senior Law clinic the 1st Wednesday at the Wenatchee Senior Center
• Housing Justice Project clinic every Friday morning at the Chelan County Superior Court
• Full representation for eligible cases
• Specialty workshops on family law, housing, consumer, employment, wills & estates

We believe justice should be accessible to everyone—regardless of immigration status, race, income, gender, or background. Our mission has always been to provide compassionate, professional, and confidential civil legal help, and that will never change.

Your privacy is our priority. All legal matters are handled with the utmost confidentiality, in full accordance with our legal and professional code of ethics. We understand that some may feel uncertain about seeking help, and we want to reassure you: immigration status has never been a barrier to our services, and we no longer ask about it during intake. We are here to support you—whether in person, by phone, or over Zoom. If we can’t assist, we will do our best to connect you with someone who can.

Everyone deserves to be heard, supported, and treated with dignity. We are committed to providing guidance, resources, and legal help—without barriers or judgment. Together, we create a stronger, more just, and welcoming community.

Members of the CDBA gathered last week for some golf and a celebration dinner. CDCVAS is honored to included and to work together for greater access to justice. Over 50 local attorneys offer pro bono services through CDCVAS and countless others lend their financial support.

Outgoing Chelan Douglas Bar Association President, attorney Talia Lauren reflected on her term, delivered the President's Award to attorney Laurie Chamberlain of Overcast Law Offices - NCW, PLLC for his support, professionalism and overall commitment to the community. Talia passed the gavel to incoming CDBA President attorney Jacqueline O'Keefe of Jeffers, Danielson, Sonn & Aylward, P.S.

We love the local bar association and so grateful for their unwavering support!
