So much fun to cap off the year of Kindergarten visits by bringing them to the library. We played inside and out, read and checked out books, and signed up our newest batch of library card holders. Thanks to Amanda at the New Salem library for coordinating with us and helping out today.

Behind the newly built castle play structure on the Wendell Library Grounds you will find an adventure pathway that is home to our Natural materials library for building fairy houses and gnome homes. The story walk Millie Fleur Saves the Night will be up through Friday June 19. Thanks to the for putting up the story walk!

Technology and Youth Mental Health. Thursday May 28 at 4:30.
Explored how smart phones and social media impact youth mental health, using national and local data from Franklin County and the North Quabbin Region. We will discuss practical tools like parental controls, alternative devices, and community strategies to support healthier tech habits.
This workshop is for anyone who wants strategies to support youth well-being in a digital world.

Saturday May 30, 8 p.m.

We are excited to offer Les Taïauts as the musical offering at the second annual Wendell Moth Ball. The Taïauts are a Western Mass–based Cajun band whose members have spent many years deeply immersed in the music of South Louisiana. Together they’ve unearthed strange old Cajun gems and crafted a sound inspired by the steel-guitar dancehall bands of the 1950s and ’60s. Expect stomping two-steps, heartbreaking waltzes, slow-drags, blues, and the kind of music that pulls even the shyest dancers onto the floor. For the Moth Ball, they’ll play as a trio with Rafe Wolman, Jess Golay, and Missy Roser.
