Each year, we permanently change the lives of 3,000 men, women, and children by finding them stable housing, food, income, and other support systems to allow them to maintain an improved quality of life. Lifting Up Westchester (LUW) helps build the reservoir of support necessary for our Westchester neighbors to flourish. We are here not only to repair well-being when it starts to breakdown but als

o to construct a strong foundation to maintain this well-being over time. For four decades as one of the county’s largest social service nonprofits, we make sure that all of our neighbors in need have critical resources like nutritious food, stable housing, access to healthcare and education, and the strong support systems they need to regain their independence. Lifting up individuals is Lifting Up Westchester. We believe lifting individuals leads to stronger communities, a stronger economy, and a stronger society.

Say hello to our Summer Interns, Eva and Francesca! 👋

This summer, Eva rolled up her sleeves across our administrative offices — development, finance, and housing — plus some time getting to know the people we serve at Grace's Kitchen. Francesca brought her energy to admin support and our KidzLit Summer Program, where she spent most of her summer helping kids learn and grow.

Whatever the task, wherever we needed them, Eva and Francesca showed up ready to help. Thank you both for a summer well spent - our community is better for it!

Throwback to one of our favorite summer moments at Kidzlit - the petting zoo! Our crew got up close and personal with some furry (and scaly!) friends, providing them the opportunity to learn more about animals and interact with them hands-on.

A huge thank you to Leah and Nishant, 2nd-year students from Touro College of Dental Medicine at New York Medical College, for volunteering their time with us! From re-planting our flower boxes and organizing the supply closet to packing backpacks and sorting our weekly ShopRite food donation, their dedication touched many LUW programs during their visit. We’re always inspired when Touro students join us - and even more grateful for the positive impact they bring to our community!

This year's Carnival Day may have been our best one yet!! What an incredible way to close out our KidzLit summer programming. This year's celebration included a super water slide, an inflatable obstacle course, lots of carnival games, a photo booth, and a dance party. We are so grateful to our friends at Markhoff & Mittman, P.C. for making this celebration possible and bringing so much fun to our final week. Thank you for helping us create lasting summer memories for our kids!
