🚨 Motor Vehicle Accident 🚨

March 31st, 2026 at 6:26pm , our crews responded as mutual aid to Bells Fire Department to a serious head-on collision involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders quickly assessed the scene, provided medical care, and ensured all patients were safely transported for further evaluation.

Thankfully, while injuries were sustained, none are believed to be life-threatening at this time. We extend our thoughts and prayers to those who were injured during this collision and wish them a full and speedy recovery.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to the DPS State Troopers who worked diligently while investigating the collision and remained on scene until all cleanup operations were complete. Your dedication and support are greatly valued.

We want to remind everyone to stay alert on the road, maintain safe speeds, and always be mindful of surrounding traffic.

We appreciate the coordinated efforts and professionalism demonstrated by all agencies involved in this response. 🚨🚒

We have been posting a lot about “No Burn Days” but how does that differ from a “Burn Ban”?

“Burn Bans” are set by Commissioners Court and prohibit outdoor burning for a set period of time.

“No Burn Days” occur when certain state regulations are met. One example is when wind speeds are less than 6 mph or more than 23 mph.

For a detailed breakdown on outdoor burning regulations, follow this link:https://www.co.grayson.tx.us/upload/page/0390/docs/Outdoor-Burning%20State%20Rules.pdf

🚨STATEWIDE EMERGENCY ALERT🚨
Whitewright Fire-Rescue will be participating in a Statewide Emergency Alert Drill on Thursday, April 2, 2026. During this time, test messages will be sent through public alert systems to evaluate multiple warning capabilities used to notify residents during emergencies.
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM
Because multiple jurisdictions are participating, you may receive more than one test alert during this time period.
Alerts will be distributed through:
• CodeRED
• Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS)
• Outdoor Warning Sirens
🚨 THIS IS ONLY A TEST 🚨
Testing like this ensures that emergency alert systems function properly and helps keep our community prepared when real emergencies occur.
This is a coordinated effort with:
• Grayson County Office of Emergency Management
• Whitewright Fire-Rescue
For additional information, including how to sign up for emergency alerts in your area, please review the official news release below. https://www.co.grayson.tx.us/page/oem.cred
