Yesterday, I was proud to sponsor and get over the finish line a resolution that will secure the development of the new John G Leach School that serves students with special needs in NCC. This new amazing school in the Colonial District will serve all of the County, and we are proud to build it here in the 12th District.

Earlier this week I was able to attend with my Delaware City friends and constituents a meeting held by the Clean Air Council. This organization, funded by the state, will help regulate the emissions from the Delaware City Refinery. This money will help assist keeping our residents more informed, and hold the refinery more accountable. In 2026, no one should be worried about the air they breathe due to shareholder profits.

Flock cameras? Speed cameras? We have heard the concerns and will be discussing it at our next Public Safety meeting on June 9th at 4 pm. I deeply understand the tension between the right to privacy and the needs of Public Safety. As always, my approach to this is open and honest discussion in front of the public. That is why I thank our PS Department, the general public, and the administration for being willing to talk about the future of technology in keeping our county safe, while respecting citizens concerns about privacy.
