This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We’re also reminded of the importance of caring for the veterans in our own communities.

Just a few weeks ago, volunteers from St. Jeanne Jugan Parish came together to help Michael, a National Guard veteran in his 70s who now lives with post-concussive syndrome. Together, they replaced drafty windows, reinforced basement columns, rebuilt dangerous front steps, and gave the home fresh coats of paint.

Over the years, thanks to the generosity of volunteers and supporters, we’ve been honored to assist more than 300 veterans with critical home repairs.

Today, we remember the fallen, honor all who served, and recommit ourselves to serving our neighbors with gratitude and compassion.

Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Heading into the long weekend on a high note. The chases away the rain drops with this feature on our selfless helpers from St. Pau's Parish of Kensington.

In their 21st year, these goodhearted neighbors traveled to New Britain to change Mary's life for the better. Like more than 1/2 of our applicants, Mary is an older adult who also happens to keep a roof overhead for her daughter.

And, thank you to the Norbert H. Hardner Foundation that has been making homes more comfortable and affordable for families in need for many years by funding energy-efficient improvements like new windows, doors and roofs!

We are grateful to the for highlighting the incredible volunteers from North American Martyrs Parish who recently came together to help repair the home of Tamara and her daughter.

Tamara is a devoted mother caring for a teenage daughter with multiple medical conditions, and this project was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community shows up for one another with compassion and generosity.

Talk about community. This outpouring also included a visit from Mayor Connor Martin.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and talents, and thank you to the East Hartford Gazette for helping share their story.

There is no community without great moms. Happy Mother's Day to all who take on mom roles of all kinds 🌷.

We celebrate moms like Theresa, picture here with her new volunteer friends. She and her husband scrounged to buy their first home, taking in her parents and raising her kids. 40 years later, volunteers from St. Jeanne Jugan- Enfield Homefront gave her a wonderful Mother's Day gift yesterday because Theresa was brave enough to ask for help.

We also lift up the moms who model giving back as volunteers.

It was a privilege to welcome East Hartford's Mayor Connor Martin to one of our HomeFront projects this week. We wish to thank the Mayor's office for help with logistics for a project benefiting a mom who cares for a teen-age daughter with some medical issues.

From rolling up sleeves alongside volunteers to connecting with the homeowner, moments like these reflect what community partnership really looks like.

Behind every window replaced, painted wall, and safer home is a team of volunteers showing up for their neighbors—and leaders who recognize the importance of that work.

Thank you to our incredible volunteer team leaders, to North American Martyrs Parish and everyone who made this early Mother's day gift possible.

Because when a community comes together, real change happens—one home at a time.

What a day. 🔨🏠

Spent the morning out at our 37th Annual Spring HomeFront Day projects, watching volunteers dedicate a beautiful spring Saturday toward making homes more livable for neighbors in need.

It’s a privilege to see this kind of generosity up close—people showing up, working hard, and caring for their community in a very real way.

Grateful for every volunteer, donor, and partner who makes days like this possible.

More to come.

Hi! Happy HomeFront Day! 🔨💙 The Best Day of the Year!

Today, volunteers are rolling up their sleeves across our community to help repair homes for 18 neighbors who need it most. It's the first of our Spring HomeFront Days.

We’re so grateful to everyone making this day possible—our incredible volunteers, generous donors, and partners who believe in this work.

Stay tuned… we’ll be sharing more from the field throughout the day!

As we close out National Volunteer Month, we are counting our blessings when it comes to our extraordinary volunteers.

For 25 years, volunteers from FactSet have been showing up—year after year—to help homeowners in need through HomeFront.

One homeowner they worked with still stands out. Her name was Maria.

What began as a home repair project turned into something much more. Volunteers went above and beyond—transforming not just her home, but her quality of life. It’s a story that has stayed with them ever since, and one of many reasons they keep coming back.

This year, we’re proud to recognize FactSet as our 2026 Community Pillar Award recipient for their extraordinary, long-standing commitment to our community.

And the momentum continues.

🛠️ Spring HomeFront Days kick off in just TWO DAYS, with volunteers once again stepping up to make a difference for local homeowners and community spaces.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the work—it’s about banding together to make our communities more caring places to live.
