🚨 Public Notice: SCAM / Misleading Property Mailers 🚨

Our office, along with the Register of Deeds office, has recently received multiple calls about a letter many citizens are receiving in the mail.

This letter asks homeowners to send $98 in order to receive a copy of their recorded deed and a “property profile” that includes details such as:
• Property address
• Legal description
• Parcel ID number
• Property history
• Assessment and tax information

⚠️ Please be aware:
This is not a letter from our office.

While the letter does include a disclaimer, it is still misleading. The information they are offering is public record and can be obtained:

✔️ FREE and Directly from your local Assessor’s Office or Register of Deeds Office

There is no need to pay a third-party company for this information.

📞 If you have questions or receive one of these letters, please feel free to contact our office or the Register of Deeds office. We are happy to help you access your property information at no cost.

👉 When in doubt, always check with your local government office before sending money.
