Housed in a former chapel built in 1888, the Winter Harbor Public Library contains a collection of almost 8000 books in print and serves both the year-aound and summer communities of this downeast Maine town. National Dog Day is celebrated annually on August 26th. Founded in 2004 by pet lifestyle expert Colleen Paige, the day honors family pets and working dogs, while encouraging adoption and raising awareness for shelter animals in need of loving homes.
We CelebrateHonor family companions and hardworking dogs (like police, military, and service animals).
