The Winters ISD Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Special Events Center.

🚨 COMMUNITY NOTICE 🚨

On Wednesday, June 17, at approximately 1:00 PM, local law enforcement agencies will be conducting a planned training exercise on Winters ISD property.

As part of the exercise, you may notice a large law enforcement presence around campus, emergency vehicles in the area, and temporary street closures or traffic restrictions surrounding district facilities. The primary training activities will take place inside the elementary school.

Please be aware that this is only a training exercise and there is no active emergency.

We wanted to notify our community in advance so that residents and visitors are not alarmed by the increased activity. We appreciate the cooperation of our local law enforcement partners as they conduct this important training.

Winters ISD will hold a public meeting on June 22, 2026, at 5:45 PM at the Special Events Center to discuss the district’s proposed budget and tax rate for the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Highlights:
✅ Proposed tax rate: $0.6754 per $100 valuation (down from $0.6787 last year)
✅ No debt service tax rate proposed ($0.00)
✅ Total expenditures projected to decrease by 1.97% from last year
✅ District has no outstanding bonded debt
✅ Estimated Maintenance & Operations Fund Balance: $5.1 million
✅ Average residence taxes remain $0 due to applicable exemptions

Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion about the district’s budget and tax rate.

🎶 Congratulations to the Winters Blizzard Band on an outstanding performance in the Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) Competition!

Results:
🥈 2nd Place – March Category (Advancing to Area)
🥈 2nd Place – Concert Category (Advancing to Area)
🏅 4th Place – Concert Category

Because of their exceptional performances, the Blizzard Band has earned a spot in the Area Round, where they will compete in a few weeks for the opportunity to advance to the State competition.

Our 3rd Graders presented their Eco Explorer Zoo Project this week! They reviewed area and perimeter, created an architectural plan for a zoo, researched biomes, animals and environmental threats to the area and wildlife. Each student created a diorama and had supporting information to tell about their research. Way to go 3rd Grade!!!
