Access the toolkit and share it with friends, family, colleagues and community. Help us spread the word beyond TCF.

After losing his 26 year-old son, Robert, to fentanyl poisoning, Dr. Simon began a deeply personal journey to understand addition, grief, and the questions that remain after the loss of a child.

In this presentation, he will share Robert's story and explore how writing, speaking, and advocacy have given his grief somewhere to go. He will also reflect on the importance of remembering our children for how they lived, not simply how they died and how finding purpose or moments of joy does not mean leaving them behind.

One of the greatest fears grieving parents, grandparents, and siblings may have is that the person they love will be forgotten.

Sometimes people hesitate to say a loved one's name because they don't want to cause sadness or bring up painful memories. But often, hearing their loved one's name is a reminder that someone else remembers too.
