This week, all three shifts participated in Emergency Vehicle Operations training conducted by FF Burkholder and Lt. Brownson. Special thanks to the Wayne County Fairgrounds for allowing us to use their parking lot for the training.

Today, College of Wooster Director of Sports Medicine Nate Huston invited our crews to work with his student volunteers and staff to get ready for the upcoming sports seasons. We appreciate the invitation to brush up on our skills and to work together with the training staff.

The Wooster Div. of Fire has placed into service and trained with a new nozzle designed for electric vehicle fires. The nozzle was donated by a generous community member who wishes to remain anonymous but cares deeply about the safety of the community. The donation is greatly appreciated.

Today, members of Wooster Fire Local 764 were honored to serve as the Honor Guard for the funeral services of Lt. Kyle Yoder of Holmes Fire District #1.

It was a privilege to stand alongside our brothers and sisters in the fire service to pay our final respects to a dedicated firefighter, leader, and public servant. We are humbled to have been entrusted with helping honor Lt. Yoder’s life, service, and sacrifice.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Lt. Yoder’s family, the members of Holmes Fire District #1, and all who knew and loved him. May we never forget his commitment to serving others, and may his memory continue to inspire those who wear the badge.

Rest easy, Lieutenant. We have the watch from here.

Friendly reminder for today’s festivities and tonight’s fireworks show. The use of drones or RC aircraft inside the fireworks perimeter is strictly prohibited. Sky lanterns are also prohibited anywhere in Ohio, but are very dangerous to use near fireworks. Also, the use of any consumer fireworks including sparklers is prohibited on public property. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the area safe for everyone attending.
