A big win on and off the field! 🏈🥫💵

This year’s “Battle of Hard Road” raised an incredible $3,148 for the Worthington Resource Pantry, PLUS a whole lot of food for our neighbors.

Kilbourne brought home the win against Dublin Scioto on the field and for our neighbors!

We love seeing our community show up for our neighbors. The Worthington Resource Pantry extends a huge thank you to the students who made this possible and the Worthington Noon Lions Club for their tremendous support.

💙💛 Did You Know? 💛💙

Country music legend and philanthropist Dolly Parton was a Melvin Jones Fellow!

The Melvin Jones Fellowship is a recognition associated with Lions Clubs International Foundation and honors a commitment to humanitarian service.

Dolly Parton has spent decades making a difference in the lives of others. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, millions of books have been gifted to children, helping inspire a love of reading from an early age. 📚❤️

Her dedication to serving others is a wonderful reminder that kindness, generosity, and service can create an impact that reaches far beyond our own communities.

We are proud to count Dolly among the Melvin Jones Fellows who represent the spirit of service.

The Worthington Noon Lions Club invites the community to help tackle food insecurity by supporting the annual “Battle of Hard Road” Community Food Drive benefiting the Worthington Resource Pantry. The drive will culminate during the Worthington Kilbourne High School Homecoming football game against Dublin Scioto High School on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Worthington Kilbourne High School.

The annual food drive is a friendly competition between Worthington Kilbourne High School and Dublin Scioto High School held in conjunction with the “Battle of Hard Road” football game. Each school works to collect the most food and monetary donations for its respective community food pantry. The event combines school spirit with an important mission—helping address hunger and food insecurity in our communities.

Throughout the week of September 14, Worthington Kilbourne students and the Worthington Noon Lions Club will collect food and monetary donations. Community members may drop off canned and nonperishable food items at Worthington Kilbourne High School during the week prior to the game to the attention of teacher Lauren Glaros. Donations will also be accepted at the football game on September 18.

According to Nick Linkenhoker, Executive Director of the Worthington Resource Pantry, items currently needed include peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna and other nonperishable foods. Community members who prefer to make a monetary contribution may also donate online through the Worthington Resource Pantry.

On game night, both schools will have collection tables outside their respective ticket booths. Be on the lookout for Worthington students and Worthington Noon Lions Club members carrying their silver donation buckets as they work to collect as many contributions as possible!

The friendly competition will conclude after halftime, with the winning school scheduled to be announced between the third and fourth quarters of the Homecoming game. Regardless of which school wins the competition, the true winners will be the individuals and families who receive much-needed assistance from their local food pantries.

Hunger affects children, senior citizens and families in communities everywhere, making local efforts such as the Battle of Hard Road Food Drive especially important. The Worthington Noon Lions Club is proud to partner with students, schools and community members in addressing this critical need and putting the Lions motto, “We Serve,” into action.

The Worthington Noon Lions Club thanks the community in advance for its generosity and encourages everyone to bring food, make a monetary donation and help fill those silver buckets!

Our Worthington Noon Lions Club proudly kicked off its new Lions Club year with a meaningful community service project focused on supporting local students and educators. Club members conducted a School Supply Drive benefiting the fourth-grade students and teachers at Slate Hill Elementary School in Worthington.

Through the generosity of Worthington Noon Lions Club members, a variety of much-needed school supplies were collected and delivered to help ensure students have the tools they need for a successful school year. The project supported 108 fourth-grade students and their four teachers, demonstrating the club’s continued commitment to education, youth and service within the Worthington community.

As Lions, we believe that strong communities are built by investing in our children and supporting the educators who help them learn and grow. Beginning the new Lions year with a project benefiting students was a wonderful way to put the Lions motto, “We Serve,” into action.

The Worthington Noon Lions Club looks forward to another productive year filled with service projects that address important needs and make a positive difference throughout the community. The school supply drive was just the beginning of what promises to be another exciting year of service, fellowship and community impact.
